Pretty good stuff. Just make sure you thin it.

How much do I thin it?

I also got Detail Smoke Black, hopefully that will work for shadows.

I use auto air trans black for shadows. Works ok. 30% thinner works well. You want it pretty thin. Everyone says skim milk consistency.

If it is Wicked Detail colors, you won't need to thin it at all.

Yeah, but if it's... Say, wicked silver, for instance.. Thin THE SHIT out if it. Either way though, no matter how much you thin it and/or shake it, the silver paint will actually separate from the thinner (w100 wicked thinner, as advised on the wicked silver bottle lol), if you let it sit for anything past 4 hours. So make sure you give it a good shake, before putting it through your airbrush and onto your sparkly fresh new body

I never thin anything, AutoAir, wicked, faskolor,or createx. Anything metallic, I spray through a larger tipped Iwata Revolution. All shadow work is done with a Iwata HP-B. I've used it all and never had a need to thin.

Well, I believe we were more-less giving a little advice to someone who might not have the luxury of having several different airbrushes. i.e., me for example, I'm using a Harbor Freight 'Deluxe Airbrush' lol.. Works flawlessly, especially with my OCD/anal habits of cleaning everything thoroughly in between colors, or even coats sometimes (depending on what I'm spraying out of the brush).

I thinned the detail black and it was like water. So I poured it out and sprayed it straight, much better.

I like the paints...the silver is thick! looks good though.

I need some practice on shadowing...been about 5 yrs since I've sprayed anything and starting back on a tiny TLR 22 body was a tough one. I gotta a old Eight and some touring bodies laying around, think I'll get some practice on those.

The wicked color I have tried did not need thinned. One thing I am not sure if I like about the wicked paint is it all seems to be realy transparent.

Createx does, I like the createx fluorescents better then fascolor, they take less coats for a brighter color. TPC has a 4oz for about what a 2 oz of fascolor cost.

Thanks for the tip. I checked out TCPGlobal.com, and their prices look pretty good.

I find this to be the opposite, atleast with the new 12oz bottle I have. I notice AutoAir and Createx are constantly changing their formula. I just purchased a new bottle of AutoAir transparent smoke black. The new stuff is definitely different...it seems way more transparent...actually too transparent. This is not the first time I encountered this. I called them about this and supposedly they claim to change for a better product.
