Hey guys.. not sure if you guys can help me..

I am one part of the operating crew of RC Soup.com (a news, and info r/c blog). We planned a project months ago.. We were given a Tamiya CR01 Land Cruiser from Tamiya to build, review, and give away.. we had the idea that just giving it away would be a waste.

We decided it would be an awesome chance to raise money for a charity. We picked Children's Miracle Network. We contacted other vendors and were donated an ESC from RC4WD, a radio from a HI R/C Club, Lipo from Venom R/C, and more..

Anyways, the build has been done for a couple months now.. and I had sent the body out to be painted by a friend of mine, a trusted painter on here.. I won't name names at this point.. but I have yet to get it back.. He was doing it for free.. because we worked out an agreement where he'd be featured everywhere in the build (plus it was for charity), and I'd pay for back and forth shipping and materials.. He told me 2 weeks.. this was back in like.. May? 6 weeks ago he told me the body was done.. and I have yet to see anything.. he refuses to respond to PMs or emails despite having been signed on here..

I'm giving up on him I think.. lost cause.. I needed this thing done months ago so I could take it to the big races at our pit table to show off and sell raffle tickets.. all those races are over now.. and it's almost to the point where I cannot even do a review anymore (all the trails will be covered with leaves in a week or two)..

Anyways.. I need to now buy a new body (which I'm hoping the LHS will let me order at cost).. and then have it painted.. I wanted something special.. something cool.. to feature the RC Soup logo, Tamiya Logo.. and maybe even the CMN logo..

Would anyone be willing to help us out with the Charity body? Sucks I'm already out a body and shipping (3x - sent him more money and still nothing)..

My goal now is to do the raffle around.. or a few weeks before Thanksgiving.. PM me if you need more details or email is [email protected]

Perhaps you can find a person on here that is local to your first painter.
If the shell is done, and the original painter is simply not shipping, your local person could arrange to pick it up and get it shipped to you.

Just a thought.

Maybe you could give a general location, like just a state, or major city, and see if a local steps forward?

not sure how that'd work since he's been unresponsive to PM's.. last one said he's done something to his back.. and he'd see about having someone ship it.. but he's still working? I dunno..

Original painter is in Ohio..

I spoke with the LHS, and they are placing a new body on order, and donating it to the cause. Very generous of them considering the situation..

I guess if I dont get the old one back, and nobody is interested in tackling the new one.. I'll do it myself.. not the greatest painter.. but I guess I can try.. it just wont be as fancy as I would have liked it to be to attract people to buying raffle tickets for CMN..
