Default Thinning paint.

I am having trouble figuring out the best way to thin my paint. I am using Createx paints and, I have tried several of the home brew thinners with no luck. Can anyone tell me what they are having the best results with? I don't want to ruin the finish of the paints. I am using a Iwata HP-CS and when I go to paint it will not spray consistent. I will not be able to lay a even line. The brush cuts in and out. It's getting frustrating. So please tell me what brands and any rule of thumb concepts for thinning so I can get some painting in and stop fooling with crappy spraying.

I have the same brush. I am by no means a PRO but I dont experience what you are describing. I thin mine with

50/50 Windex, Water

Then mix that mix 50/50 with the paint. I spray at 17psi. Flows nice and never clogs or sputters.

It kinda sounds like you need to run a airbrush pipe cleaner through the nozzle.

The thing about these water-based paints they tend to clog your tip really quick. It seems like your paint is not thin enough, especially with a small tip. So just clean your tip out more often when you are painting.

Go pick up a the 0.5mm needle, the 0.5mm nozzle, the 0.5mm nozzle cap, and a bottle of AutoAir 4010 Flash Reducer. Install the parts and mix the reducer in 4:1 for normal spraying, 3:1 for shadows and detail work.

Also be sure to spray airbrush cleaner in between colours.
