When it come to spraying liquid mask the bigger the tip the better, I use a hvlp with a 2.5mm tip. I would not recommend using any airbrush for liquid mask, if you do you will ne to reduce it.

Just curious I seen there has been two mentioned HLVP guns to use from Harbor Freight. One is a 0.6 tip for $13.99 and the other is a 1.5 tip for $15.99.. I like how the 0.6 is a little smaller. I will be shooting just Bob Dively's if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I ended up going with the 1.5mm tip and it sprayed awesome! The only issue is my small oil free compressor can't keep up with the volume the HVLP gun uses for air. I read a bunch but it sounds like I am better off with an oil free compressor. Thinking about going with this compressor. My compressor now is 1/3hp cheap one from harbor freight and just doesn't have the CFM I need. I use a filter on the line as well. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

This one only has a 0.8mm tip vs the 1.4mm tip on the larger 20oz one.

Which works better?

You want the one with a bigger tip. I have been using the one from harbor freight with the bigger tip and its works perfect for spraying Bob Dively's straight at 35-40 psi. Here is the link for the one I have been using

I paid $13.50 for mine... It works well, but I wish I could find a smaller cup for it.

When spraying, how do you know when you have enough sprayed on?

I spray it until the entire area is white, and then let that dry twice.

See my post on the 19th of March(#30), and that is what it looks like after a coat.

Makes sense. I don't know how I missed your post, selective reading I guess.

Thank you!

I ended up upgrading to new compressor. I don't even know if a pancake one would be much better. I ended up purchasing the kobalt 1.8hp oil less compressor from lowes. It keeps up much better!
