Default Help with new air brush/paint thinning

I'm new to airbrushing, was just tired of doing rattle can jobs, and wanted some help with the airbrush I got. It is a dual action one, but the needle size is 0.25mm. I noticed that most of the paint suggests 0.5mm. When I was practicing on some paper, I noticed that it dry tips alot when spraying. I varied the pressure from like 25-50 psi to see if that would help. Also thinned paint down some. I have Createx and Faskolor paints. I noticed on some other posts that the suggested thinning is 2 parts paint / 1 part thinner. Should this be enough for my needle setting or should I thin it more?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

thin it and adjust the pressure as much as you need to to get it working for you. not much more to say really.

you could think about getting another brush as a workhorse with a larger needle/nozzle set and keep your .2 for other things/detail work.

I don't know what airbrush gun you got, but most of them sell different sizes of needles.
The size of needle has also something to do with the paint job you want to do. For single colors or masking paint jobs, the bigger the needle the easier it gets to cover a large area uniformly. Smaller needles can give you paint lines which are fine if you do freehand outlines.
Since you did rattle cans, you probably will have better results at the beginning with bigger needles.
