Shading Q's

Shading Q's
I have a few questions on shading, both doing drop shadows as well as doing some other shading around things like flames and windows.
I am getting some pooling when I am spraying, almost as if the air blows the paint around and it starts to look greasy? This are only in small spots but I still feel as if I am doing something wrong. Possibly I am spraying to high of PSI (I have used between 20-50) or just putting to much paint down at one time?
What pressure is everyone doing their shading at, and are you thinning out your paints both colors as well as black?
Any other shading suggestions people might have I would greatly appreciate it.

sounds like you are laying down too much paint and/or pressure then the paint pools up and the air pressure is creating blowout spots
pressure/paint mixture..experiment and see what works with you, your paint mixtures and your airbrush etc.
wouldn't normally suggest using straight black unless that is the effect you're going for.
use a mixture of the bases complimentary color and black. like on a yellow base you might like to try using a purple/black mix for the shadows and then even doing an orange shadow behind that.
don't try to get your drop shadow down in one go unless you're confident with your airbrush control and the paint mixture you're using. even then it's better to do a few light passes instead.
