help with lightning
I want to do a lightning themed body can some one give me a step by step. I'm new to airbrushing.
The problem that I can foresee is when I shadow the lightning it will be a lighter color. When I back the rest of the body with black or midnight blue won't it ruin the lightning effect? How do I get around this problem?

When doing lightning I like to use the color shift paints.
I have had good luck with the Parma FasChange Blue. I have also use the SpazStik Hard Ano blue then backed that with a thin layer of Parma Pearl white.
The way I do my lighting is....
Draw a rough sketch of the lightning pattern on the outside of the body.
Then I use my airbrush to fog the highlight color, the FasChange Blue, along these lines.
I then come behind the FasChange with FasWhite. I use a pretty heavily reduced white to make sure it flows well as well as requires several layers of white to build the color. The main reason I do this is to allow another layer of the FasChange to be sprayed behind the white.
After spraying the second layer of the FasChange blue I then lightly fog the over reduced white in one thing layer, covering the same area I fogged the FasChange blue. You dont want to cover the entire area with white. The idea is to have voids in the paint to allow different areas of the FasChange Blue to flip.
Lastly I paint the desired body color behind my lightning.
This gives the lightning a nice blue glow where the white lighting streak has been layed down and the fogged areas will change color depending on your viewing angle, so it gives the illusion of a actual lightning flash.
It is very hard to catch this change with a camera but here is a pic of a body I did with the above method.
