Default WINDOW MASK UNDER LIQUID MASK?

Will a die cut window sticker under liquid mask be easy to cut the window section out? Thinking I should remove them and just cut the windows out of the mask... but might be easier to cut a straighter line too?

You can put the factory mask under LMF. But I find it quicker to forget about the factory mask and just LMF the whole thing and cut the window lines I want. The factory masks rarely fit the molded lines, so I don't bother with them, especially if the design requires LMF'ing the whole shell anyway.

Yes you can use it. Just make sure that the vinyl is flat. Otherwise the LM will go under it.

Unless you are doing some pins or anything special on the windows I say us the factory mask. Otherwise use the LM.

I just feel like a total hack when trying to be perfect with an exacto-blade.

Pactice without cutting it without the blade even, just so you get your hand used to it and find spots to rest your wrist or hand while cutting.
It s impossible to cut a straight line if you re not resting your hand somewhere.
You can also use the edge of something to help you guide the blade but either ways 99% of your cutting is going to be based on how steady your hand is and make sure you know precisely what path your blade is going to follow before you start cutting the mask.

And remember, nothing is perfect...that's why we enjoy doing things by hand. If we needed perfect, everything would be done by plotter/cutter.

Nobody notices perfect window trim as it zips by on the track.

I do notice everything mind you Dave, btw there s a couple of particles of chrome in your last lid that are missing 1/10 th of a mircon in density.
Yet again ... I m a Borg , for you humans you just dont see these things ..

K i d shut up, quit drinking wine and watching too much Star Trek :P

As long as it s straigh enough it s straight :P
Even for a show body and a shelf queen , with a lil practice , comfidence and a tool or two or a thicker cardboard template to help you guide your blade you d do great.

Also try the curved tip instead of the pointy tip blade, similar to the one i m using in the A to Z tutorial . SOme find it easier to control
