I think a new case is like 35 bucks. I'm sure you can just call CE and ask if the black GFX case will fit? If not I know a few guys that just called and ordered the black stealh one.

my origional that I bought used has servo tape "spots" all over the top of it, and I hate the tan... it looks like CRAP! I can't wait to get the black!

The black really looks good. I painted mine with Kylon Black paint for plastics. Looks really nice. I would then sprayy it with a clear enamel.

I have heard of that being done. Be very careful not to make it too hot as the case will warp.

I would say no boiling water. Also I would say stir the water as teh case is in their to help it dye faster.
