Painting "camo" on my truggy body?
I am REALLY new to painting….any ideas on how I can paint my MBX6T truggy body with a “camo” theme? Like either the WHOLE body in camo or maybe just the middle and do the sides black or something.
When I say I know NOTHING about painting, I know NOTHING. I would probably be using canned paint….any idea how I could pull this off, and could you explain to me in basic steps how to pull it off? |
I did a cammo scheme for an RC10 Buggy for my Brother in Law. I could not figure out a way to do it with cans of paint (to much masking). I brush painted (with a few greens and browns from parma FASTCOLOR) the shapes of color. I then backed it with broad full coverage stokes of a beige (I mixed white and light brown). It turned out OK. The paint was thick though.

Liquid masking film the entire body (inside).
Draw your camo pattern on the outside. Mark all your colors (like paint-by-numbers) Cut the mask. Peel the dark spots, paint. repeat for the other colors. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...amo-betty5.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...amo-betty4.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...amo-betty3.jpg http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r...amo-betty2.jpg |
The paint job pictured in Colors_By_Dave's post is much more polished than the one I did. his looks very nice.
