If you have a pen attachment I would save then draw it out on scrap paper first. I have CS3 and when I arc lettering it will arc it to the specs I want, but if I go to move it, it highlights it as being straight. Also, don't forget after you have the desired arc, to got to the type menu at the top (thats where mine is) and click on outline, or trace, I can't remember what AI calls it. If you have any questions, let me know, or better yet, give Charlie B a pm, he's the AI expert here.

I am looking into getting a new cutter. I currently have a USC LP 24. I am wanting something with more cutting quality. I am having problems getting mine to cut well. The images do not want to close all the way. I have tried every suggestion and will be testing some more tonight. I keep have an extra line cut on the letters. Almost like the cut goes to far.

I would like to stay under the $3K range including cutting software. I would like something no smaller than 24" as well. I want to be able to cut down to 1/8" if possible in this range. Any suggestions.

The best cutter in the market is the Roland GX24. If you have the $$ for that..that is the one to get.

+1

After returning 2 USCutter LP24's for exactly the same problem, I purchased a GX24. Night and day different and could not be any happier. Kinda like going from a Yugo to a BMW (in quality as well as price! LOL).

With a $3k budget, you'll be in good shape. $1,700 for the cutter (that should include a copy of Corel Draw). Even if you had to pay $600 for AI, that will still leave plenty of $$$ left over for supplies.

Thanks guys. I have read a lot of great things about the GX-24. Looks like I will be investing in one of them. Time to save up the money and buy it. Any idea of where to buy it from? Who has the best deal or service? I will be searching myself later. Just thought that someone may have a suggestion.

Weird thing about mine is that not all the images cut wrong. Some of the letters will be fine others not closing. Oh well, time to move on.

USCutter! I had bad luck with their machine and their service leaves something to be desired, but their prices are excellent.

Have a sneaking suspicion Roland wouldn't leave you swinging quite the way USCutter does with their own equipment!

Does anyone have any dxf or gsd files they wouldn't mind sharing with me? I just purchased a new Craft Robo and I don't have many choices of files to use. Could use some flames, skallops, skulls, etc, etc. I'm not too picky to be honest.
