I have actually done multiple Gulf color schemes on Ford GT bodies, and just finished my first VTA body in a Gulf livery (pics up soon). I used the Tamiya light blue and tamiya orange. I have also used the flourescent orange without backing, or backing with a darker color to get the right hue. Fortunately i have a real Ford GT painted up in the heritage (gulf) colors, so i can compare nicely! The blue is a little bit darker, but the orange is spot on. I have been able to lighten the blue by painting very lightly then backing with white.

I'll post up some pictures of it compared with the real thing soon!

Looking forward to seeing them!

Did you use PS-7 Orange?
or PS-24 Fluorescent Orange?

I posted it in the other VTA thread, but here's my Gulf livery Inspired Camaro, I used Tamiya PS-3 Light Blue and Tamiya PS-24 Flourescent Orange

The flash makes the blue look a little lighter than it actually is. But it's close enough.

Thanks DS, yeah I like the Pontiac, did it in a candy and white as I couldnt find any decent TA ref pics.. these were more GT style racers than TA.. but the White and Red give it a TA feel Pitty in the Bag it was missing the whale tail What scheme are you thinking for yours??

If you have an airbrush Parma makes a transparent black labeled Fastint Black

On another note , I am just getting into the on-road side of the hobby and starting out with 17.5 blinky TC . After seeing all the nice paint jobs of the muscle cars I really want to get into VTA as well !!
