Default Window Decals

Hi all,

Just painting up my HPI Camaro now - will post pics when done. Is everyone putting the window decals on as is? ie: using the whole decal including glass, or cutting the actual edging trim off the decal - just putting on a "thin silver strip"?

Cheers
Ian

Default One from Oz

Ended up cutting the "windows" out of the decals, to make sure they were clear - ready for the driver figure now

Here is Australia, regs for paintwork, etc aren't as strict, but I wanted to keep things authentic.

I do that too. I even found out that the HPI guys do that as well. Still the decals go on better if they are solid. Then you can cut it after its on.

Good point. Might try that next time. Doesn't matter now though. The car had it's first outing last night and is looking a little worse for wear

I masked my camaro body

I am thinking purple with gold glitter for the stripe and lime green for the main colour.

I am still clueless on the number colors and stripe outline color.
lmk what color you guys think i should use

Finally got my new car on the track this past Sunday at our season opener. Built the TC5 last February but continued to run my trusty TC4. To insure I ran the TC5 I sold the old car...only way I could force myself to try something different.

Boy am I glad I did. WOW!! That TC5 is some car!

Body was painted by Shawn Kiely / Big Fin Graphics (can't recommend him highly enough...reasonable prices and GREAT quality). The challenge was to incorporate "my" colors in a period-authentic manner. My 1/12 cars, World GT car, Slider Late Model, etc all use these colors in a scheme "borrowed" from the Falken team cars in "real" GT racing, drifting, etc. We added the pearl white to add accent as the first bodies painted in this scheme needed a little "something".

This was also Shawn's first paint job where he painted the outside of the body, in this case flat black. The neat thing is that the flat black is backed with black on the inside so the inevitable scratches will still be black.

Now I gotta find a driver and get that incorporated!!

Some nice looking shells popping up in here, good job guys. I'll be working on a new one for indoor in the next week or two. I'll be sure to share when complete.

You think it would stand out enough? Purple I have looks pretty dark.
I am thinking of doing the outline silver.

Man, I always get stuck on the colors when doing a body
