How did you decide which era Pepsi logo to use?

If you look up the era online, it shows the different years and all the logos

That Pepsi car is awesome. Really like it.

Growing up, only my Dad was allowed to drink Pepsi. The kids had to drink Kool-Aid (made with real sugar god forbid!). So, I remember that logo. It was the pinnacle of things I couldn't have! LOL

As for flat surface, save some scraps from your next body cut and use them to test with maybe? Put the goo gone in an extra spray bottle. Just don't leave it upstairs on your wife's vanity. You will be dead meat if you do.

I save scraps from VTA shells and from SCT shells. They are great for testing paint layers and for reinforcement. I add them to the shoo goo in the front and front corners of my race shells.

On the other hand...
GOOF OFF that comes in a metal can DOES react negatively with lexan bodies.

I made the mistake of trying to clean off some sticker residue with Goof Off in a window area and it fogged up the lexan.
Goof Off Professional (metal can) is mostly just acetone.

Goof Off Heavy Duty (plastic bottle) is just some water based cleaner.

Both are great. I have and use both for various things around the home. Goof Off H.D. is sold is a plastic jar of wipes. These are great for cleaning rubber tires, albeit more expensive than the blue towels and goo gone.

I believe that nail polish remover is acetone based so that would make sense. I read once that nail polish remover is one of the leading causes of poisoning in households. They make it in colors and it looks good to little kids I guess. Bad deal there.

(Yes, I know that painting it on the outside will basically do that, but that's not what I want to do)

Scott
Testors had a flat lacquer-based clear coat that I have used on the outside of lexan bodies.

OK, Snoop-dog...we see how you are now!

I've been searching for the Tamiya 86055 spray to make the outside of the body matte. It's been discontinued and the local Hobby Town doesn't have it. I've found it on Ebay in Europe, but only one place here in the US. Might have to try the Testors stuff. Thanks, Mooby.

The reason that the Tamiya Flat isn't available in the U.S. is that Tamiya forgot to include it in the last batch of paints, to be approved by the EPA. They will have to wait until the next time to get it approved for use in the States.

Bureaucrats are always more trouble than they are worth. If they allow it in Japan, it would be fine here.
I think the testors clear frost will work fine. There might be something else that would work just as well.
