Its just too difficult to get the tape up in there.
Snoop go for it I do it all the time it works great with paint mask as well
Just go slow when removing it and watch the tape don't pull up

If it is going to be a race body, you can always just paint the outside of the front end/nose on the car and not worry about masking the inside. The other option would be to use decals to cover any problem areas.

Unless you are painting a shelf queen body, all VTA bodies are going to eventually have their front end destroyed. Unless you enjoy having a perfectly painted race body (many people do), don't sweat details that won't be seen from the driver's stand.

----------

The best use of painting the outside is on bodies like the Pegasus Mustang. It is much easier to paint the front grill from the outside of the body than the inside. If you are painting the grill black on the outside it will end up with a matte appearance, which does look good.

You know Indy. I agree with you all the way, but I cant help but try to make it shelf queen quality even though I am going to beat the hell out of it. Pete I think I am going to try it.

My problem is that I am a backmarker as a racer, but for concourse I actually have a shot.

Well I was going to say a trophy some money and a shell but yeah you said it well.

When it comes to this event everybody wins. No Im not talking about prizes or trophies though there will be plenty of that. Here is the deal. If you are a VTA fan or a USGT fan, this is the pinnacle of events. Not even the Snowbirds has this many beautifully painted VTA and USGT shells ready to roll in the same place. I am hoping to get some good footage of the quals and races this year. When its all said and done thats what we have left.

Last years SEVTA video which is about 65% footage from the last Music City USVTA Southern Nationals. Yeah its a repost but its time for it.

+ YouTube Video

Just painted my first VTA, now the work begins trying to promote a class here local. Probably not true VTA rules but as close as I can get the track owner to do. Need 5 for a class so heres to hoping I can find 4 more LOL.

The stripe is bright red btw, dont know why it looks pink in the pick

My inspiration from last years Scottsdale Barrett Jackson
