Questions?? HELP - AIR BRUSH - HELP WHEN AIRBRUSHING WHAT PAINT DO I USE? POLYCARBONATE? HELP!

HI GUYS, I AM ABOUT TO PURCHASE ABOUT 40 RC CAR SHELLS TO PRACTICE AIR BRUSHING ON THEM. I HAVE A MATE THAT SELLS THEM FOR $5 A SHELL THAT'S WHY I AM GETTING 40 LOL. NOW I AM GOING TO PURCHASE AN AIR BRUSH KIT AND SOME PAINT BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT AIRBRUSH KIT TO GET AND WHAT PAINT TO USE FOR LEXAN SHELLS???

WHEN I SPRAY PAINT LEXAN SHELLS I USE THE NORMAL TAMIYA POLYCARBONATE CANS OR THE LRP POLYCARBONATE CANS ETC. BUT WHEN I THOUGHT OF DOING SOME AIRBRUSHING I WASN'T SURE IF I CONNECT THE CAN TO THE AIRBRUSH OR WHAT?

SO COULD THE MORE EXPERIENCED AIR BRUSHERS PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS A GOOD AIR BRUSH KIT TO START WITH AND WHAT PAINT DO I USE?

CHEERS, PAUL

For an airbrush I would reccomend an Iwata Eclipe BCS. If using Faskolor, windex is what I would suggest for thinning the paint, and get a good compresor. I reccomend buying decent stuff from the get go, it will making the learning curve much easier, then if you try to save a couple dollars.

How much is a Eclipse BCS? Also how much windex do I use to thin it out? Is there a ratio anywhere, such as 10 ml and 3 ml etc? Also I already have an air compressor but what psi should I do the airbrushing at? Thanks again weaponx, all help is appreciated

Unfortuneatly with faskolor, its hard to give a ratio for thinnig, as the faskolor itself varies, depending on if its a flourescent color or an opaque color etc etc. Its more of a learn on the go. I usually spray faskolor between 25 to 40 psi, again this kind of depends on the consitency of the paint.

Parma Faskolor is a great waterbased paint...

Definitely go for a Iwata airbrush though, they are top of the line and worth the money...

Hi guys, Thankyou for steering me in the right direction. Now, I was just wondering is the Iwata Eclipse HP.CS a good air brush to start off with? If so is this a good deal?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/IWATA-ECLIPSE...QQcmdZViewItem

Just one last question. If I spray a body with the Parma Faskolor waterbased paints and on my first body I stuff up bigtime which it wouldn't surprise me as it would be my first time. Can I wash it off straight away with water or something without wrecking the body?

Thanks again guys for all your wonderful help.

Thin fascolour until its the consistency of table cream. For Faskolors I use water if I'm just spraying coats/backing up and "Fantastic cleaner" when I do shading/blending/details. Use a hairdryer between coats. Another tip is get some small marbles to put in the bottom of your paint bottles for better mixing.

Disregard my questions about the paint from a hardware store. Didn't realise how cheap Parma Paints are. Not to mention I would be cutting corners if I went for a cheap paint.
