There are two ways I have done it...
First: Spray a fair amount of paint - enough to not require two coats, and quickly randomly dab with a bunched of wad of saran wrap before it dries. Allow it to dry, and then back it with a complimentary color ( opposite color ).
Second method: Spray or pour a good amount of paint onto a paper plate. Bunch up saran wrap wad. Dip into paint, and dab the inside of the body. Back it with a complimentary color.
I did this with blue & silver.
Method 1 made the silver less noticable, you'd barely tell the silver was there on the track, but looked really cool up close.
Method 2 made the silver a little more noticable.
I prefer Method #1, but you have to be quick. If you're shooting Faskolor, you have to shoot it fairly thick and at low PSI so that the airbrush air doesnt dry it.

I think that the marble works better with metallics anyways. sometimes the saran wrap won't move all the paint aside, but will create thin spots, or shift the metallic particles.

ALright thinks alot guys. Ill try that on my next body

I used a Sponge to do it too Works but just make sure it clean the sponge a bit or you get overamount of paint

I've done the wadded saran method, but personally I've gotten best results when I didn't wad the saran wrap. Instead, I painted a thick coat, then pushed the plastic wrap onto the painted area and peeled it off. It's a more natural marble finish in my view. Gives better depth and color variation.

here is a "sarran (glad wrap) dabbed" body i did for a mate.
i love this method. very easy with stunning results if you use the right colors.

Their is also another way that gives a very different look but it's still a marbled effect, You still spray the paint on thick, you still use the crumpled saran wrap, only difference is you don't take the saran wrap off, you let it dry and then pull it off, gives a more 3 D effect. Looks real cool. I found the Idea off of C. Barnes web site.

this is how i normaly do 'marble'.
paint required area with a pactra or tamiya candy colour, back with alclad chrome and 'stipple' with plastic bag or settle some 'cling film' on it whilst it is still wet. you do have to be quick cos alclad dries realy quick. then back with faskolor black.
looks nice.
