rcrace37- This is how I would do it.
step by step
1st- Take a sheet of paper (I use copier paper from work) cut it to the size of the side of the body you are painting.
2nd- Draw in pencil your design once you are happy with it take a Sharpie and trace over the pencil. Once you do this you should see the design on both ends of the paper. This will make your design equal on both side of the body.
3rd- Tape the paper (with the design on it) to the inside of the drivers side of the body. Now trace the design with a Sharpie on to the body. Now flip the paper over and do the same to the other side.
4th- The arrow on the hood take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Now draw on one side of the paper half the arrow design (like you'd cut out heart out of paper in kindergarden). Once you have half the arrow you'd like trace over the pencil mark with a Sharpie. Now flip the folded paper over using a light copy the design on to the other side. Now unfold it and you should have a semetricle arrow design. Now tape this paper to the hood and trace it onto the body.
I use Blue 3M tape and un mask from darkest to lightest
Hope this helps

And Roly does it quite well as can be seen on the sedans he painted in the ProLine adds....
I am using both now, liquid mask for bodies getting a design that covers more then 5/8th of the body and 3M blue as I have used for 7 or 8 years for all other designs. The tape is showing to be much quicker and easier to get consistent lines too.
Always try and do dark to light, back with silver or white(opposite of whichever was used last for backing) and allow a full day to dry if you need to use a dark color after lighter ones.

PaintingRoly that helps alot I have been trying the 3m blue tape I think it is 3m anyway but it has been tearing the paint when I peel it back.
Mine says 3m scotch tape is that right.
Thanks Jim I am actualy trying it on revo illuzion body and dont want to screw it up that is why I am taking forever to paint.
I have had the body since two days after it went on the website forsale.

rcracer37, sweet! Keep in mind if you really want to slam the body you can trim the roll bar or remove it, it will go loooooow.
The 3M Scotch brand is the only tape to use, if your using the tape method, the others lift and cause bleeding. Other tapes can also leave a sticky residue when removing.
Be sure to use a fresh #11 hobby blade and use your finger nail to "burnish" the tape edges right before spraying each color.
If you have peeling it may be cold where your painting, or you may need to scuff the surface with scothbrite and re wash after....Or your using black and it is a tuff one, no quick fix for the black, other then alot of VERY light coats will help.
