Tech Adept
The HPI 5b is still running after many years. They are good lightweight platforms that can handle high hp engines. They are still very competitive in the r/c racing scene. The parts availability is still there and they have tons of upgrades from many different vendors. The 5b is still better than the DBXL in reliability and upgrades.
Here's a pic of mine before I sold it to buy a Losi 5ive.

Nice rig. My wish list on ddm is getting bigger but I see this as more of a next years project. I will be doing a full tear down this fall/winter. Thinking about useing the glass beader at work and de anodizing all the colored items. Cheaper than purchasing all the grey stuff. Ive also done that ato a set of crawler axles and it gives them a real cool "soft look" not the shiny new look.

I bought a used kings motor baja from a good buddy of mine couple years back and went to a empty land couple times to run it, but eventually stopped going their as it was a lot of work to carry the heavy buggy and all the tools and everything. Tried running it in front of the house couple times and neighbors started complaining, since then it has just been sitting in my garage lol!!

My neighbors didn't likenit either. The physical ssize of them has both advantages and disadvantages but all in all they are a blast. Low maintenance goes a long way for me. I ran mine at the gravel pit for the most part. The one up here is pretty big and lots of differernt types of area. I plan on trying it out at the motocross track here soon. My biggest problem is that i will probably end up with 2 or 3 again. I would like to do a sc vversion this time.
