Greetings,
This is my first post here and I am fairly new to RC and couldn't resist the Audi, what an impressive machine. I have only had it out a couple of times and I am sharing the same experience as others have pointed out about he tire wear, I am looking for some options as far as tires are concerned and hope to hear what others have experienced as far as other options for replacement tires.

I did try out my gps on the car and was able to achieve 44 mph with 4S 30C.

I look forward to learning from the forum.

Welcome to the club. I'm on my second set of tires. I'll be following others and moving to 1/5 GRP tires once this set is finished. I'm waiting for the wheel adaptors to comeback in stock.
Hopefully Losi is aware that many of us are moving to 1/5 tires. Maybe come spring they will have a better wearing tire. Or one of the aftermarket companies will create something.

I've heard the hard springs are better, so have ordered some. will update.

I've got a couple of sets of 1/5th GRP/PMT Tyres on the way, £19 a pair in U.K.
Extra soft/Soft/Medium/Hard or Wet's is aa much better choice.

I'm still waiting on the Adapters to be in stock next week at rchornet. Then the long shipping from USA.

I'm getting a set of 4 FG square drives as I Think Our axles Are 8mm so they should fit straight on over our axles and just tighet on with the grub screws.

Then hold the wheel on with a screw/bolt down the centre of the shaft where the Drive pin grub screws go?
Hopefully should d work OK.

I'll post any info/pic's if I manage to make my own wheel adapters?

I can't fault the car apart from the Tyre wear/cost issue's.

No mail today because of the holiday... revised machined RC-hornet adapters should arrive tomorrow for final size fitting. Keep you all posted.

Standard FG Or other 1/5th square wheel Drives fit straight on, once the Wheel Hex is removed.

£5 a pair or £15 a pair for titanium.
Just need a screw/Bolt to hold them in place,

I Think a nice titanium Bolt should do the trick?

Not sure if its M3/M4/M5 yet?

My Tyres/Wheels are now £20 a pair GRP/MPT Tyres..

Should be 3m on the grub and axle screws. Still waiting on new RC-hornet revised adapters to arrive, to be continued...

Thanks for posting your progress. Did you have to trim the front splitter in order for them to fit?

Hi, Yes have cut a bit off the front splitter, and a bit of the Bodyshell next to the splitter.

Found some stainless steel Socket Hex Head screws that fit, 20mm long M4.

Has cost me about £15 plus Tyres all in so far.

I'm currently Modding the Bodyshell mountings, so it comes off/on in seconds.
Another cheap mod, I'll post pictures and details of parts later.
It's Cost me £5 so far?

Please post some pic's of the body mod pins that sounds really cool!

The rchornet adapters are still being machined for perfection I'm being told going to be awhile till they arrive.

Any one having issues with the steering. When its on full lock it rums against the sway bar and the centre drive shaft and the ESC.
Plus when you turn there car from the transmitter it seems to be on full lock at about of 80% of the turn. If you then twist the steering wheel further it doesn't actually make the car turn further just puts extra stress on the servo. It defiantly needs the steering end points adjusting on the controller. But you can't.
Anyone had similar issues or solved this?

Hi, Where does it Rub? the sway bar is miles away from the wheel (Shiney silver rod in the PIC)

Think the only thing that looks like it could Rub is the Suspension spring or steering arm, but mine doesn't go that far? across.

Haven't noticed any rubbing on mine, post a pic to show?

Have missed the Body pins for easy access too, just because I like to check things over after a bit of racing..

Bought some cheap 1/0th scale Alloy Body pins for £2.80 and just screwed them in on the front and sides.

The rear body was harder. had to drill out the Tail posts and cut it thinner with a saw.
had to use 2 Body pins also on the rear.

Not sure how strong they'll be, I may glue them in place after a few test drives.

Pictures added...

Very cool body mod Animal666! Let us know how that works out after some use. Those would look really cool anodized red to match the motor. I like this mod I'm looking at doing the same thing after I get mine on the road. Thanks for posting the pic's!

Ok..The steering problem. Its the steering linkage from the servo all the way along to the left and right movement. Not the wheels. They appear fine.

It bangs off there sway bar kit on the figure of 8 plastic ends. Then it also moves the servo that rubs on there Esc as its very close to it.

I also noticed that the steering needs the end points on the controller adjusting. Any idea how to do that. Its putting far to much unnecessary force on there servo. A possible answer is adjust the St Rate dial on the controller, but not sure what this is exactly for.

Also any one have any idea on how to control or adjust the AVC? Not sure how to do it.

As you all known guys the instructions for this model are very poor so any advice or tips on set up, tweaks or anything else would bet greatly appreciated.

Hope all this makes sense.
