A Tekin for Indoor Clay Oval???
Hey, I'm starting to run indoor oval. The local track has 60' straights...I don't know if that is a small, medium, or large track? I'll be running 13.5 blinky mode for now. Late model class.
My question is about using a Tekin redline 13.5.
I bought an RS gen2 ESC, due to the fact that I've gotten spoiled with the data logging of the Tekin electronics. But of course my thunder power motor doesn't supply temp data to the ESC. So I am thinking about trying the redline motor. I would like to have that temp data...
I know Orion, Trinity, and Thunder Power motors are favorites for oval... But would it be a mistake to run a Redline motor instead of these other brands?
And if someone has experience with these motors on oval, does the "high RPM" version offer an advantage in 2S blinky oval racing? The hobby shop guy says he prefers lower torque / higher rpm motors because they are smoother. I would be picking between the two versions, although I could just buy one of each and find out the difference for myself?

We run similar size ovals around here, although outdoor.
The Tekin 17.5 RPM, in our classes, is the motor of choice.

Well, I don't need to know it is "awesome" or "the best"....just that it will be competitive with stuff other guys are running.
And good to hear about the RPM version--I think I'll try one.
