Ok. Decided to get a couple of the S901T servo's from Losi. Should take care of the steering duties.
Did notice my servo-saver spring was getting a little week on the car. Duly stripped it off the car and rebuilt with a new spring and "rubbers."
Looks as though I will need a new receiver battery as the one in the car it appears is no longer up to the task

Plenty of room on the car to put whatever I wanted on so going to have a look around.
New tires should be here tomorrow or Thursday. Some GRP rubber ready for the Joliet track.

10 days to go

Ok. Got my new servo's through from Advantage Hobby, good price too!
Along with some new servo arms from DDM. Just need to get them fitted and set-up.

While I was waiting I decided to skin the air filter box in Carbon Fibre. Don't really have time to mess around like this..... just can't help myself sometimes

New tires came too

Car will be ready soon!!

Regards

Thanks Alphacat. I think it's going to be a fun day.

I managed to get my new steering servo's in the car and set up. Should be good to start the engine today or tomorrow. All being well. Should be already to go.

One question I have for the 1/5th scale regulars. Do you think 2500mAh will be enough for the receiver battery considering 4 servo's, two of which are Losi (giant) S901T?

Regards

Oh boy that would be nice!! Congrats on the new track k Tony., looks spectacular!

One day maybe. If we can cultivate some interest here for 1/5th on-road maybe I'll be able to extend an invite to you and your fellow racers out there on the West coast.to come to LHR?!

We could call it the "Mid -- West Challenge" ???

Good things can come from dreams Tony!

Nice to see an on road track setup somewhat close. What classes are you guys running and what brand cars? I have a couple Lauterbacher sitting in my hobby room I'd love to blow the dust off of and run them.

Hey dasher

That was our first event and it was a shame you missed it.
At the present time we are trying to gain interest in running 1/5th scale on road so are just asking anyone with a 1/5th scale (or 1/4for that matter?!) To come down whatever car you have!
The first meeting we had around, actually didn't count?? , twelve people with their cars turn up.
It was a great time!!
First time for many, if not all, being on a prepared on road track?!

While we do plan on having another "Race-n-Roast" event next July. We have not, as yet, tried organizing another meeting for this year.

Would you be interested blowing the the dust off those cars and.coming down with us?

Regards

Sorry I could not make the event in Joliet a couple of weekends ago. Had some family business in Memphis that needed my attention. Guess I am going to either have to do a race in Cali or wait until next year for Joliet.

Yes. That's kind of how I'm feeling too.
Maybe if there's enough interest we can set another date before the end of the season.

Hope all is well gents! A new 5th scale onroad series and track are being worked on in Canada this season. Location is about 30 minutes away from Buffalo/ Niagara Falls. If there was a Canadian Championships in July/August, would you be interested in coming up? Would be classes for Baja onroad, 4wd sedan, 2wd and F1. Interested?? Trying to get a base for the organizers to make it happen! Let me know your thoughts, spread the word to your fellow racers in NY/NJ and Illinois!
