Exclamation Losi Desert Buggy XL-E Mechanical Brake Set

So, I just purchased a Losi DBXL-E 2.0 not that long ago and also got the optional mechanical brake. Here's my question:

Where the hell are the installation instructions?

I searched forums and websites far and wide. I managed to find another thread here on RCT where this very question was asked for the v1, however the photobucket photos are bye bye and not accessible. The thread also wasn't very helpful on the "how to" side.

Would anyone have a clue where some instructions may exist to do this, or detailed pictures of the set up?

If there is reasonable demand I'll make instructions.

It's kind of a pain to do for only one person, lol.

I can try and post detailed pictures later, and answer any questions.

Haha, yeah, I get that. That's why I didn't want to bother you. I spoke to someone at Horizon Hobby and he told me he had this very question from someone just last night. Apparently, I'm not the only one on the hunt

Default Manual Possibly?

So I got something from Horizon. They admit that there is no manual for this however, one of their tech guys drew up one. You guys have any feedback? If it looks legit I will do the installation and document as I go with pictures and make a nice manual for others.

This is the setup for the 5iveB, 5iveT. Same simple setup really, so it should give you a good idea

Ah yes... this is going to definitely do the trick. Combined with picture and video reference Dave put up --- this should work nicely!

DYNR0113 hpi baja servo arm fits nice and has appropriate size holes.

I just finished installing the brake kit. How do I program the transmitter to use the reverse trigger as the brake? similar to the gassers. I don't mind that I lose reverse, but it would be great the have that programmed to another switch on the transmitter. I am using a Spektrum DX5C, thanks in advanced.

I’m curious as well. I believe I’ve seen it done but I don’t know how.

I think you just disable the reverse on your ESC and buy a parallel receiver connector to connect both the esc and brake servo into the receiver.

Disable reverse on the esc and most higher end transmitters have a mixing function if you have access to that. That will allow you to have both on the same channel and still adjust each individually. A y connector works also
