Wow what can I say Billy Fischer should get all the credit for REBUILDING THE ENTIRE KIT !!!
Here's what I mean, and dont be fooled buy people who where not there!
Heres what I know the stock plate was used but altered to make room for the Losi rear blocks and suspension, the front end was bullet proof blocks with Losi arms, shocks, knuckles and linkage. sounds cool don't it! WELL there's more....
He redrilled the plate to move the motor and gear box forward to clear the Losi shock tower.
Give credit where credit is due, thanks to "Billy Fischers car design capabilities" he ran and made it into a race winning combination.
YES BILLY IS A WORLD CLASS RACER, AS MANY OF US!
All I'm trying to say is "stock" should be removed from that ad. BE REAL!
I was there too, I saw the car. Not stock... the credit for the win be given to Billy Fischer. In addition to his superior driving abilities, without his technical knowledge with these toys would not have put that car across the finish line first.
From the onset the car it was brought out to the practices and didn't handle as well as a dump truck. Billy was left alone to his own vices and know how. He did what was necessary to make that car win and set the track record.
The advertising is misleading... http://www.customworksrc.com/racenews.html ... if I didn't know better, I would think the car is great as is and that it can win anywhere. But thanks to Billy and my first hand (I have 2) knowledge of the changes that are needed to make one of the darned things turn in the dirt.
Are you saying the car is a prototype or just heavily modified to make it raceable. I read it has loose track suspension on it how did they arrive at this loose track modification??
Prototype don't know, stock NO! The car was put on the track in stock configuration and could not keep up, it was taken home and modified severely, maybe it should be called a New car. It had the Stock Roll cage, body and wing, but the rest of it wasn't CW!
Most racers never keep their car stock even if they race for a team. Over 20 years of racing and the only company that's cars are close tto stock with parts you can buy is Associated!!!!!!!!!!! Cyrul ran for Losi back in the day.....Won Cleveland (go figure car not stock). Happens all the time. You guys are kinda acting like you never saw this happen before.
Gm, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Yamah, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and others all do the same.

I've been around R/C for 20 years and are sorry to disagree. a losi is a losi, when you buy aftermarket parts there for a losi. NOW whan you buy a custom works and cut , drill, retro fit losi parts to it, well it not custom works now is it !!!!
I will give you a first hand example!
back in 98 stock off road nats, some one "no names" will be mentioned.
took a traxxas buggy and TQ,d with it. traxxas rep came down to the track the next day cause the driver had a inside source with them, they where ready to pump the hell outta this one, traxxas over "LOSI & ASOCIATED".
well when they arrived traxxas declined that it was one of there cars due to the fact the driver a retro fit associated and losi parts to it. SO moral of the story IT may have started as a traxxas but with all the mods from other manufactrues parts they said no way! is this a traxxas!
GOOD MOVE! HONEST MOVE! tell it like it is & dont take credit for putting other manufactures parts one a car thats supposed to be of it's own and call it STOCK! thats just B,S.
Hats off to billy for the awesome work HE DID in rebuilding a car that didnt work !!!!
this was a R&D break through for BILLY!!!! HE and ONLY HE can say that he built a car to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I think Kyosho did that when Joel won the Offroad Nats with his Ultima "The Next World Champion" was the slogan. Trinity has made a 21 year career of this.
I know right now if Losi wins the 4wd class at the big race in Ohio (A certain Losi driver though) they will say their 4wd car won but every part he made himselft with 60 plus hours in it. It was a Losi but if it wins you will never know that the car is not even close to what we can buy.
Just saying they all do it and are all guilty. I don't think this will ever change.
Not taking nothing away from the Winner. Still a big feat when you win a bigger race.

Guys to continue to argue about that car really serves no purpose the best driver won plain and simple, as far as how it was advertised it may have been an honest mistake maybe they did not know to what extent the car was modified. You have no pictures and the car is very likely disassembled by now and I doubt it will be seen again in its as raced configuration.
rythemchaos04: I think I may be able to shed some light on whatever your problem is with us.
After reading what you said, back at the 2005 Winter Nats (February), Billy and myself were there with prototype versions of the Custom Works Enforcer GSX that will make it better suited to loose tracks and tracks that use buggy tires. Billy ran his prototype GSX, I ran mine, and Josh Utley drove Billy's own Losi based car (since Billy's is running our cars now) which is similar to what Chris Cramer runs as well.
NOW LETS FLASH FORWARD...
After learning what we did from February till now, we made single parts that directly bolt on to a stock Enforcer GSX so that those who run at loose tracks or buggy tire tracks have Part Numbers to run the same car we all race. This "Loose Track Package" you have been flaming us about for weeks was what Billy bolted on his out-of-the-box stock Enforcer GSX to TQ, set new track record, and win the First Stop of the 2005 Dirt Oval Dot Com Nitro Tour.......this is the race we talk about on our website that happened in April not February.
For those who don't know, the "Loose Track Package" is new front and rear shock towers, longer shocks, and wider front axles to accomidate the differences between our 2" CW wheels and tires with those of the 2.2" normal buggy tires. The only "un-stock" change on the car remaining was the wheelbase was 3/8" shorter.
All the deceit you have accused us of is on the table now. I hope this clears things up for you.

.
Where are the part numbers... I did not see them in new products or in the parts listing on your web-site, however I found them at Horizon, under Losi Parts. Front blocks I can buy from Mike Lubanovich.
rythemchaos04: I think I may be able to shed some light on whatever your problem is with us.
Having some long discussions with Rytemchaos04, the man has spent a bunch of dollars on two CW kits only to find the nylon components are substandard. Plus he has spent more dollars trying to make them more impact resistant. Just brushing the wall, either the pivot pin, control arms and/or steering blocks shatter. Maybe you should find someone to manufacture a better nylon parts for you. May I suggest RPM. In our area the cars are just not as competitive as your website implies. The cars are just too inconsistant.
Of the 60 plus cars per week locally there is only one person still campaigning CW cars, and he is strongly considering jumping off the CW boat. He presently is looking at TMR, Klein or Kranzel.
Tucker: There is no bull to get into, if there is I refuse to do it. I have read what you wrote and realize we are talking about two separate events, one in April and the other in February. The car you are descirbing is the Losi-based car Billy ran prior to February and the same one Josh Utley raced in February.
February 2005: Billy ran dremeled-out prototype CW car, I ran the same, Josh Utley ran Billy's Losi sprint car. Cramer raced his Losi sprint.
Time now passes on to April....
April 2005: Billy runs stock kit-form GSX Enforcer WITH Loose Track Package, I was not at this race, Cramer and Dennis Klein start working on their new car and is now running a Klein car, and runs well with it from talking with Billy, Chris and Dennis.
Basically I don't see many more ways to slice this whole deal, unless someone is calling Billy a liar, which we all know is not like Billy at all. As far as who ran what car from this point on I'll just have to agree to disagree.
Hick: Cramer does run a Klein car, here now in the present. Read the above because that is the history of all of this as I know it. As far as the quality of our product, thats entirely your opinion. Fact is you hit the wall, things will break, bend, shatter with any car. There are people out there that could break a cannonball if they were racing it. Really though I have e-mail and a phone, if someone was having problems with our cars they surely could have called and asked for help, instead of bashing it. I am easy to talk to, thats why I am here. In your local area our car may not be the "one of choice", but the world does not revolve around Phoenix, nor any one other place as well. Here are the part numbers you were looking for.
Part #4238 Hardened Front Hinge Pins
Part #1207 Loose Track Front Tower (available in 4 weeks)
Part #1208 Loose Track Rear Tower
