2013 Firecracker Classic - The Gate, Brunswick, OH
The Gate in Brunswick, OH, is pleased to announce that the 2013 Firecracker Classic will be held at this fine northeast Ohio facility.
After a bit of a disappointing inaugural event at another location, race promoter Jimmy McKinley went to The Gate track operator Wayne Gerber, and simply asked to move the event there.
Here's the details:
Location: The Gate, 1733 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212 (in the Laurel Plaza between Aaron's and Big Lots)
Dates:
Friday, July 5, 2013:
Practice from 4:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturday, July 6, 2013:
Doors open at 7:30am, practice from 7:30 - 11:45am
Pre-race festivities: 11:50am
Racing starts approximately 12:00pm
3 rounds of qualifying plus mains
Classes:
Rookie/Novice (using Gate rules)
BRP 1/18th scale oval (Gate rules)
Indy Cars/F1 (2-cell LiPo, 21.5 motor. Open-wheel body. “Blinky” mode (non-timing) on ESC.)
Hooter Outlaw Chassis Tour Eastern Dirt Modifieds (2-cell/17.5)
SLO/"VTA on the Oval" (Toledo rules - "Sedan Late Model Oval") (National VTA rules apply with body exceptions listed on Rules sheet. 25.5 motor, “blinky” (non-timing) mode on ESC, VTA tires/wheels, 5000mAh battery max. Minimum weight 1550 grams.)
10.5 Nationwide (Gen 3 body/"blinky"/World GT tires)
TOUR classes:
17.5 Sportsman Truck

Big-block Dirt Modifieds (Hooter’s Chassis Outlaw Tour rules: 17.5/2-cell)

Format:
3 rounds of qualifying followed by Mains; B-Main winner(s) get bumped into the A-feature.
TOUR 1/10th scale Oval Class Rules:
4.22v MAX on track voltmeter. No heating of battery. 36oz (2 lb, 4 oz) minimum weight on track scale. 4mm ride height. All other TOUR rules apply (with exceptions noted for bodies). Sportsman Truck class only: 4000mAh SMC battery ONLY; World GT (purple-stripe) tire. ESC must be in “Spec”/”Sportsman” (non-timing) mode.
10.5 Nationwide Class Rules:
Same as TOUR rules above with following exceptions: ProtoForm Gen III “Nationwide” body, spoiler only (no wings). Rear of body must be left in (cut at rear bumper line). World GT (purple-stripe) tires. ESC must be in “Spec”/”Sportsman” (non-timing) mode.
Dirt Modified Rules:
Hooter Outlaw Chassis Tour EDM rules. ROAR-approved 17.5 motor (D3.5 will be acceptable); any ROAR-approved 2-cell LiPo battery. Any tire. Dirt Modified body. 50 oz (3 lb, 2 oz) minimum weight.
SLO/VTA on the Oval:
National VTA rules apply with body exceptions listed below. 25.5 motor, “blinky” (non-timing) mode on ESC, VTA tires/wheels, 5000mAh battery max. Minimum weight 1550 grams.
1/18th scale BRP:
Gate rules apply.
F1/Indy Cars:
