Default Baja clutch bell - Lots of slack or improper shimming?

I got my first Baja yesterday, I bought it used. It's in great condition and runs fantastic, it's the HPI 5SC SS. Anyways, I had to service the brakes on it this morning and I noticed the clutch bell had a lot of play and slack in it. I looked it over but it seemed to be OK.

I'm thinking that this thing isn't shimmed properly but wanted to check with other Baja owners to see if this is the way they are supposed to be.

Thanks,
Greg

Keep up on the bearings and I shim mine on the inside bearing . Install a lo get screw from the back with a nut on the outside so it can't come loose.

I shim mine so can only move in and out about .05 mm if possible.

Oh wow, yea something if for sure not right with my clutch bell. I'll have to take it apart and see whats up. It also hangs down, I'm thinking maybe there's a thrown bearing or something in there. It runs fine though.

Bearings should keep it tight up and down and side to side ,just like a wheel bearing. Time to disassemble and check it out.
