You will not find a power plant in Nitro Pro-stock that will run 100 mph in 132 feet. There are two set-ups in Nitro Pro-stock these days. There is an extended wheel-base (outlaw) Pro-stock class where you can run big or small blocks, and there is the regular wheel-base class, which is limited to .12-.15 engines. However, neither will hit 100 mph in 132 feet. Hell, the only class that will do that is the unlimited electric class. You are asking a lot to get one of these little cars to accelerate to 100 mph in a distance that short.

A good power plant would be a drag modified Novarossi Kangaroo.

Hope this information helps.

Keep me posted

I couldn't find an active thread for drag racing anywhere on rctech... not all to surprising really. So I'm resurrecting this one in hope that I'm not the only one with an itch for straight line speed!

I was messing around one day and I set an old 50's bomber body on an old pan car and thought... why not make a ratrod/bomber drag car! The pan car is a Bolink Eliminator that I picked up for $25 awhile back. The body is a McAllister ford bomber body I had mounted on a 4x4 buggy years ago, hence the large wheel cutouts. I also have a Castle sidewinder esc and 4pole 3800kv motor laying around that will power this beast. Basically it will be a seriously fast missmash of ratrod goodness! The only thing I'm really going to need to buy for this project is fixed gear rear axle parts. I'm also going to build wheelie bars. I may swap the front wheels for skinny oring drag wheels too, we'll see. The rear spoiler was made for drag racing, it was setup that way for the 4x4 buggy originally and really generates some downforce.

I don't drag race but do speed runs with a dragraceconcepts top fuel sidewinder chassis.

Jory, that's probably a Grand Motorsports (GMS) car that you probably can't get parts for. Walbern has similar parts. DragRaceConcepts and Roy Anderson Engineering (RAE) front ends are different. RCDRL and IMDRA are active organizations you can get info from.

Hey B, depends on your intentions with the car. If you just playing around then Castle Sidewinder combos are inexpensive to start. If you're only going to run 2s for drag racing then the 6900kv or 7700kv combo is good. They are 4-pole so have a lot of torque which may require to tone it down a bit. I know of guy that used the Parma pod to replace the rear to firm it up a bit in the back. The RJS cars are a bit too flexible so that'll limit you a little. But good enough to start and have some fun. We have a couple of guys that run that brand and have fun in the bracket class.

That's a better esc and you can go sensored and use the "Cheat" feature which is similar to Boost in the Tekin and other esc's. Will you be running on a prepped surface?

There was a test and tune this weekend and the surface was not prepped. I have a TC6.2 and a RJ Speed Spec 10 I want to race.

Ouch, no prep. Get a rpm motor versus torque. Find the older (CM36) Castle motors (6900/7700) or 2.5T/3.5T sensored motors. More rpm motors so you mellow out the start and get it on the big end. Can you run tire traction at least? We run on sugar water (cheap and goes away).

Hey Slap, I follow RCDRL (all regions) and use it as a gauge for the Traxxas/Gearbox and other classes. It's great you folks can run at these various places. Do you still run on VHT or something else based on location? Keep it going!
