If your stripping spurs you might wanna go to 32p gears.
Associated makes several spurs that would be a direct fit for a Slider.
You could run a Sc10 4wd spur gear without any modifications.
Let me know if you try this because I was wanting to as well just
to have more gearing options.

There is definitely another issue if only your ESC is getting hot. The motor, ESC, and batt should all be close in temps. If only the ESC is hot something is binding or there is such a load the ESC can't handle it. Doubt it is ESC as I run a 1/8 electric with 60 AMP esc on 4 cell lipo and 2250 KV motor; everything is about same temp after a race (dirt oval).
