L8ight differential ...
Will a front overdrive on a smart diff help with turning? Or maybe a spool in the center? I'm running the smart diff, 50k center and 4k rear. Springs are white front and red rear. The only way it will turn is to let off and coast around pretty much. Even with softer front springs its the same.

I had a King Headz L8ight, and ran 125,000 in the front, center spool, and 25,000, or 50,000 in the rear depending on track condition's.. The big thing to make an L8ight turn, is run less rear toe in.. King Headz make a real nice set of adjustable toe rear arms.. Are you running foam or rubber tires? Tell me more about the track surface, I can get you hooked up..

Running DLM2's on a pretty tight tacky track. Search cherry valley rc park. There are pictures on the thread. I've got a tekno v3 chassis. I don't care for the electronics layout really. Esc is right behind the LF tire.

Also get those adjustable toe rear arms, and start with 1 degree in on both sides. That will gain you a ton of steering.. If you still need more steering on corner entry, go to 0 on the RR. LMK if you try it, and if you need any more help, just shoot me a PM..

I'll get a pair Tuesday. 8's & 9's? What does that translate to in Losi colors? :-) Much obliged!!!

Not sure what losi springs, I used The springs from RC4less..

I am running the overdrive gears on a standard diff in front and it tends to help steering coming OFF the corner. Haven't tried the smart diff because our local track don't allow it...
I am running the stock Losi body (see my avatar) and with the front OD I can hammer the gas pretty hard coming out of the corner and not get out of shape. The rear will hang out a bit, but will get in line pretty quick so you don't have to lift the throttle to get the car to settle down.
I have been thinking about installing a spool to see if I can get better acceleration off corners, but others keep telling me it won't work or the car does weird things in handling dept....so haven't gotten in a hurry to install it yet...
I did as the other post mentioned and took out some rear toe-in using the adjustable pivot setup. Took 1 degree out of each side and that helped quite a bit.
What body are you running?

Stalker SS =D I think every single chassis reacts differently. A friend of mine is running a spool in the center. I'd expect that to make it push but the car is almost to the point of being loose. You should get loaded up and come race with us Sunday at the Bullring. Registration ends at 12:30 so leave early. :-) Drive fast too! I'm gonna yank my front diff out and toss the OD in and spool the center. Its more like a super speedway oval. Very fast!!!

I like Stalker's products, but I had a hard time making my car turn with the SS I had....but I also had it mounted unconventionally and that may have had something to do with it.
Hadn't seen any board activity on RCO for your track (Bullring R/C). Was wondering if you guys were still in business?
We have had pretty good racing down in Fort Smith. Been averaging around 40 cars every other Saturday from all combined classes..
Man, Sunday is a bad time for me....every other weekend I work and the other weekends I am getting in bed early FOR work on Monday. Your track is about a 5 hour drive away, but thanks for the invite!

I run the Stalker SS on mine and it had no steering on entry at all. I fought it for weeks changing everything on the setup. Finally I took the center section of the rear spoiler off, left the side pieces, and now it turns in great. I felt stupid chasing the problem half the season when it was such a simple solution. How tall of spoiler are you running? You might take it off and try it out.

Mine is 2". That's a very good idea. I had thought about that but figured it couldn't make much difference. I'll try it!

That's what I always thought too. Mine was 2.5" tall. Running on a high banked track with straights about 70' long. It would seriously push all the way to the wall on entry but after the initial turn in the car would rotate around and do perfect. Let us know how it works out for you.

Finally got to race last weekend! After a few rainouts! I put on the Losi adjustable hingepins. (Not much adjustment) Set rear toe at 2 degrees and anti squat 3 degrees. Front camber +3 left and -2 right. Rear 1 1/2 plus and minus. Black springs front gray in the back. OD gear on smartdiff in front. 50k center. 10k rear. Made an 1 3/8 spoiler. Bought a new Losi flex tuned chassis and replaced the tekno too! Freaking thing was fairly loose!!! I LIKE!!!!! I'll do a little tweaking with springs and camber and I think I can get it. I still had to let off to get it to turn in and then feather the throttle on the Castle 2200kv til it was straightened out. Softer springs should get the rear traction back I hope. I got it out front for 8 laps! :-) Just wasn't the last 8. I gotta blame that on driver error though. Saturday night will bring forth another night of testing. Much obliged y'all!
