hey pony i would mount all the electronics on the left side of the car. not sure what speedo u run but the Q2 fits perfect in front of the left rear tire. place the recevier about an inch to an 1/2 off of the edge of the chassis. This is how most of the team guys run there cars with awsome results.

All though I too run an internal antenna more for looks than anything. If the antenna tube created so much drag dont you think they would lay down at speed? Even at our track which is huge and the cars are cruising, Guys who run the tube routinely have them whipping the loop bridge at full throttle down the front straight.

less chance for interference by running the tube outside the body

Outside I usually run the antenna outside, indoors I always run it inside the body. Now I have the Spektrum so I will be running the atenna inside.

your talking about something that doesnt even weigh an ounce. The weight transfer is non-existant. Unless your running the spektrum or PCM receiviers, then you should have the antenna outside the body, as FM and AM are more prone to interference.

I've run pan cars with am and fm radios on oval with a 320 foot running line for years with the antena inside the body without a glitch problem

there si no advantage to running it inside or out. it will not drag or cause any performance changes... it is more likley for someone to get a glitch inside then out,,, but both work... we run on a 365 runline track.. ive run it in the body and out. both in the same day with the same setup, and there was no difference.. preference is all it is..
