There are a couple good places. First you need to determine what you want to spend and how you will use the car. FG and HARM both offer competition and sport models. Don't think you have to get a comp model to be competitive and have fun. Where will you race, what are they driving or just having fun.

I get all my stuff from Rapid Racing in the UK. FG has a distributor in So Cal. I am sure some FG drivers can add more. See the SX3 or EVO posts.

There are other options from which to choose. FG is the most popular, I would think followed by Contrast. There was a lot more support for them in So Cal but that does not seem to be quite what it was. No real sportline model that I am aware.

Note 1/5 the cars are gas not Nitro, a lot easier to tune. If what you were looking at is nitro it might be a 1/7 scale.

Give Tony a call at
rc-modelsport.com

He'll be able to help you out whatever you decide to do. Knowledgeable man who's been in the business a while and a very good driver too.

Good luck
