I don't think anything could be twice the upkeep that my Baja was.

Can someone point me in the right direction
I've been looking to buy the Losi 5t for some time and I'm ready to pull the trigger. I live in SoCal and was looking to join a 1/5 Losi club if it exists so I can learn about it more and make the right purchases.
I'm looking to upgrade the engine right away and put on a tuned exhaust.
Can someone point me in the right direction to either a hobby store or club ?
Any info will help.
Thanks

The big Hitec HS-1000SGT is the best steering servo setup.
If you are in the Irvine Lake area then check out the track there. https://www.facebook.com/irvinelakercpark There is a good crew that gets together. You can also check out the Team Chase Off Road Race Series: http://www.teamchaseonline.com/location.html
Tooting my own horn, but we have the largest selection of engines/parts/accessories in the 1/5 world: http://www.davesmotors.com/ You can give me a call at 801.619.0235 or shoot an email to our "[email protected]" email account with any questions you have and we will get back with answers. In short I would say that if you are racing I would start with a Zenoah G290RC and the high flow muffler. Usually people put too much power in their car for a race track and end up with slower lap times. It is tempting to slap a big fat pipe and huge engine in the car because it is FUN but makes for terrible lap times when you are first starting off.

Thanks Dave. I actually have a list of items to order for you and I plan on calling you today.
Is a G320 OBR too big with a Bartolone silenced pipe?

So I've been highly considering the 5ive T recently as a farm truck and I'm just wondering what I'm getting into...my Search-Fu is weak when it comes to Gassers it would seem. No racing, only bashing.
For one, I've never dealt with Gas/Nitro before. I understand the basics from watching videos/maintaining a weedwhacker but I'm just wondering if it's fine to jump right into the 5ive T as a first gas truck? Or start on a 1/10 Nitro and go from there.
Second, buy the roller and upgrade everything immediately for >$2000 or go BND and just upgrade over time? I realize the roller is more cost effective but it would be weird since I'd have nothing to base the stock performance off, therefore not knowing just how much better the truck is (if that makes any sense).
I already own plenty of Electric stuff, I really just want the sound, size, and no battery management (too many batteries already).

Get the bartolone pipe hands down the best manufacture for tuned pipes. He made my 50cc pipe and it's crisp. They cannot be duplicated. The welds are spot on nothing missed in his craftsmanship.

How does the stock engine compare with a bartalone, Losi, and DDM pipe?
