Default How can I tell?

I picked up a pair of used 5b's but I'm not sure how to tell if they are really HPI's. Is there a destinctive marking or way to tell if I have a KM knock-off?

One has all orange annodized parts and a 23cc motor. (Black main chassis)

The other has all purple annodized parts and a 29cc motor.

Both have HPI bodies.

Default hpi baja

There are a few ways. one is to look at the upper a-arm. the ball ends should be grey plastic. all baja come with either 23cc or 26cc (26cc ss kit only). hpi radio gear, servo, battery. Fuel tank should have one black line and one yellow line. On the shock if you look at the adjustment nut, the grips of the adjuster nut should go up and down only, and not in the form of a "x". the motor will have a walbro carb. if you can send some pictures to me "[email protected]" I can take a closer look.+

That was a very detailed response thank you.

Well I took a quick look and here is what I found:

buggy #1
- all orange anodize parts
- shocks have a IIIIIIIIII groove in the adjustment collars
- The ball ends are gray plastic
- Has all HPI radio gear
- 23cc motor

buggy #2
- all purple annodize parts
- shocks have a XXXXXXX groove in the adjustment collars
- The ball ends are black plastic
- Has mixed radio gear with HPI receiver
- clear fuel lines
- 29cc motor

I'll snap some pics later for ya.

Thanks again.
