Thanks Koval. I'll look around for a set now ;-) I do like the looks of them.

I'm sure someone has already pleaded with HPI for a re-release of the Super RS4 in the recent past (I may have been one of them, but can't remember), but NOW is the time to revise the old design and put these back on the market. I owned one briefly back in the day, but it never took off like I wished it had. Brushed 05's and NiMh batteries just weren't a perfect match.
With current battery and motor technology I don't know how this platform, with the scale bodies, wheels, and tires, couldn't become the next big parking lot class. I like that we now have VTA and scale spec classes, but HPI and Kyosho super-size cars take things to another level.

Ive been posting in another thread but today I got my second Super EP in the mail and im in the process of installing a brushless setup as we speak. Its the Vapor Pro ESC/Vector 4000kv combo out of an HPI WR8 flux. Ive been running this setup in my RS4 Rally for a bit but its way to much power but should be perfect for the Super.

Ill be adding some pics soon along with some pics of my Shelfqueen Super EP that I purchased from Contender not long ago. You may have seen it, carbon fiber chassis, upper deck and towers, cvd's and more.

Always happy to see this thread is alive.
Good luck on your bl project, super is a very weak car just out of the box for bl combos, but thanks to all of these hpi and other brands upgrades parts it can be strong enough to handle even a 550 bl motor .
What tires are you going to use?

Not sure what tires ill use yet. I have many sets and I mean many, something like 20 sets of wheels and tires. Although alot of them are for shelfqueens there are pleanty of useable sets ill have to play around with. I dont plan to race with it, just some parking lot and street bashing.

Common problem with the hpi's slick tires is the balloning especially with 3 or 4s lipos .Kyosho's k zero are great tires and yes the racing k zero's are belted.so if you dont have the wolfpack 1/8 adapters go with k zero's .

Default Replacement Super Electric RS4 Belts

Well I got some good news... The belts he has listed actually do fit the Super Electric!

They are Bando part number STS3M-597 (199 tooth) and STS3M-174 (58 tooth). They are both 6mm wide and have 3mm spacing between the teeth.

Here is the Bando Catalog: http://www.bandousa.com/html/pdfs/bu...ower_trans.pdf

The STS3M-597 is list price of $7.02... and the 174 is $4.63.

So that is good news for anyone looking for replacement belts!

I also found these from a supplier in Clifton, NJ:
4mm wide: http://shop.polybelt.com/597-3M-04-R...7-3M-04BNG.htm
5mm wide: http://shop.polybelt.com/597-3M-05-R...7-3M-05BNG.htm
6mm wide: http://shop.polybelt.com/597-3M-06-R...7-3M-06BNG.htm

All at $4.26/pc... Not bad.
