Post October 30th 2004

With the current weather conditions in the area, we will go ahead and cancel today's final event of 2004. A great season of racing is now history as we look forward to 2005. This will be ESLROC's 5th anniversary of racing in the Northwest!! Thank you to all those who contributed to such a fun and exciting year of races in 2005!! Everyone have a happy holiday season and we'll see you all next year!!

Talking Test & Tune

Ty - How did your Super testing session go yesterday? Just curious to see how much fun you were having bashin' around off the trrack. I ran mine our newly paved road as well......IT is ballistik!! Nice having a smooth place to test cars that resembles the track surface.

i run a one-way and a ball diff with a brushless system and the drive train seems to bind. i put aluminum front and rear bulkheads and that seemed to smooth out the drive train.

Post Ball Diffs

I have been running ball diffs all the way around and haven't had any problems with drivetrain. I have been considering a front one way for next season. We run on a very high grip surface so it may be beneficial.

Has anyone tried 6deg. steering blocks? Also, does the 2-speed tranny fit and is it worth trying it?

Talking Out of the Box

No one here has tried the 2 speed tranny. I had one and gave it to another racer to try and he hasn't yet. I don't believe any of us have tried the 6 degree blocks yet either. This car has shown us, with the exception of the springs and ball diffs, that it has been pretty good out of the box.

i have the two speed on my super and it takes a while to set-up correctly. i set my throttle exponential to -20%, removed the ball from the two speed and placed another black spring (so 2 are in there) in the tunnel, without the ball. cranked it down and backed it out about 1/16th of a turn. from a standstill the super still slams into second in about 15 feet, but on the track it shifts about half down the 110 ft straight. i have to run with the super nitros as i am the only electric super at my track. i run a schulze 18.61 controller and a lehner basic 5300 on 8 cells. it runs very well but the two speed springs lose their tension after about 5-8 runs and she starts to shift earlier and earlier. hope this helps.

Post Fill the Field

Thanks for the info., it should help allot. That's to bad that you are the only Super Electric there. At the end of our season here, the Supe Electrics out numbered the Super Nitros and it was opposite at the beginning of the Season. Now, looking forward to next year, we have a full field of each that will be showing up. Thanks again!

280mm vs. 300mm

Have any of you tried to run 300mm on a high grip track yet? We have had a pretty good size straight all this past year and most of us ran 280mm because the car seemed to handle allot better than the 300mm. If anyone has any set-up ideas for the 300mm, please let us know - Some of us want to run the Corvette body next year but they are 300mm.
