F-1 was also a sweep of the top 3 positions by FG cars-- 2 comp cars and a sportline!! Sportline F-1 cars are very fast in low-bite conditions-the comp cars seem better in high bite conditions. WOoo TIm,
YO, better be very careful on what you say
I finished all of my races for series with my CONTRAST. I'm finishing 2nd for all of the series race with my practice motor. See here. http://contrastca.com/raceresult.html
Put it this way, there are alot of FG cars that won't hold up for 30 minutes as well as our Contrast cars.
It's up to you to keep them together.
It's not the make of the cars.
So don't be pointing fingers to what car broke cuz I can point some fingers too.

No hard feelings but , I sincerely hope you finish your next race cuz, you've gone thru a race with a FRANK built car but soon you will need to rebuild your car and it could start falling apart

Thats is my point.
Understood?

The Contrast car did not break an arm...A screw backed out. I am very new to 1/5th scale racing and honestly have not had any reliabilty issue with my Contrast. Me being an 1/8th driver, I drive the crap out of that thing and in the process hit things pretty hard. The only thing I have done is bent a turnbuckle and a front axle after hitting the curb in the sweeper at the Greater LA track. I agree that the some FG cars did look good, but the Contrast guys will figure it out. Between myself, Brian Thomas, and Mike Pallazola Brian has the most 1/5 driving experience of about 8 or so races. The Takahashi's have helped us with set-up but we are all still fine tuning the cars to suit everybody's driving style. Give us a little more time and I am sure you will see the Contrast finish a lot better in the future.

Wow, this coming from a newbie......just for your info.....my rear arm did not break, a bolt that hold the toe in true loosen up and feel out.....but we will see what happens in the future in regard to what car is the better car. If you forget to tighten the wheels on a Porsche and the wheel falls off does that make the car unreliable ........I thought not.

Ooookkkkkkk... back on topic.

I think the other thing that makes 5th scale racing much more fun is the fact that you can run for almost an HOUR on one tank (depending on how tuned your motor is and the temperature/air density outside) and enduro races work very well. Furthermore, you don't have to make swiss cheese of your body like in nitro cars. Nothing like a great paint job done only to see the car get mutilated because you need air flow to the nitro engine or else it will turn into an IED.

So scale realism, great engine sound (if you get the right pipe), easy to work on, parts are huge and easy to replace, VERY COST EFFECTIVE over the long run, and easy to set up.

Better yet, LETS SEE SOME PICTURES OF PEOPLE'S RIDES!!!

GEEZ GUYS!!!! I APOLOGIZE!!!!! I didn't really mean to start anything!!!! Contrast cars are GREAT!!! Very fast---but at the Nats---if I'm not mistaken--didn't FG sweep 1st in all the class's??? Contrast cars are nicer looking and just as fast---lot's of cool carbon parts in their design--- and in fact were leading the STC main when a bolt backed out. And don't worry--I'm learning car preparation from Frank-- he's the master no doubt!! As a matter of fact--I believe he is coming out Sunday just to help all us rookie types with car set-up tips!! He's willing to take his time--not race--just to help us learn more about our cars!! I'm willing to learn-- and someday perhaps add a Contrast car to my collection-- it's always best to know ALL the equipment for racing.
And as you've already seen, I get out of the way of faster cars readily as well. I've got a lot to learn-- didn't mean to offend--I'd love to see our hobby GROW!!! It's a lot of FUN!!!

Does anyone know if there are 1/5 scale bodies with a Corvette Design? I know a couple people would buy a 1/5 scale car if they had a Corvette body. If there is one, would anyone have a link on where to get it?

LuisR?

Frank Killam made a c6r body. I believe its available direct from him. I would of thought it would be on VSM/FGsupply but it doesn't seem to be listed.

Frank is selling the body direct. I ran his prototype body in the GT class at the Nats. Oh my God! This was the best handling body I have ever run.
