Help! Glued Wheel & Rim Compatibility Question

I have a OFNA GTP 2 and I'm having a issue with some tires and wheels I purchased the other day. I'm using the Inferno GT IGT001B tires with Thunder Tiger EB4 rims and I'm wondering if there is susposed to be a gap from where the edge of the tire meets the edge of the rim? It appears the tire is too narrow for the rim application so I'm wondering will only Kyosho rims work with Kyosho tires or can I use other types of rims? Also is there a difference between on-road and off-road rims thus the reason I have such a gap?

Anyhow, I just went and purchased some Kyosho rims instead ...
