Default FG or 5B SS?

Well the time has come to start looking for a 5th. I'm strongly leaning towards a HPI Baja 5B SS. But the FG Monster Beetle Pro caught my eye also. I know finding parts for the Baja would be easy but not so sure with the FG. Should i base my decision on this alone?

I wouldn't!! You need to decide if you would rather run off-road or on road! The HPI is a GREAT 1/5 scale off-road buggy but it's best suited and designed for off-road.
The FG cars are specifically designed for on-road!! And do well there.

If you're on a budget though-- HPI cars are really nice for the money. FG cars will run a little more I think. Parts should be readily available for either-- but HPI seems to be stocked by most large hobby shops--while FG is a little more specific.
I LOVE on road-- so I've gone to FG cars---but I DO have and HPI Buggy-- and it works flawlessly.
FWIW "Clear as mudd now huh?"

Like with all my r/c i love off road but there will be times where it will be on road. How is the FG Monster Beetle specifically designed for on-road? It has huge tires and all the vid's i've seen you see it thrashing in Mud Dirt etc

Sorry--- I was thinking of all the FG on-road cars!!!! If you're looking for a cross-over off-road / on -road car--the HPI will do it. Just need to change tires and sway bars--and maybe shorter stiffer springs for on-road. ANd it will go fairly well. The quality of the parts are great for the price.
