Default 1/10th dirt oval..

Hello all I've seen the losi sliders but remember someone mentioning they were using their AE b4's to run dirt oval. Any suggestions on setups? Seems like quite a few shaft driven 4wd touring cars are used as well..

Any and all recommendations would be much appreciated.. There is also an outdoor asphalt oval close to where I stay as well.. so it would be nice if the cars could double on either asphalt or dirt.. If not no bigge. I have both belt driven and shaft driven tc's. Just want to try soemthing new....

TC's can not be run on dirt. Not enough ground clearance or suspension clearance.

As for asphalt oval, go to the track and see what they are running. Most are pan cars like the IRS in my signature.

this is false info. tc's are very popular on the dirt. it's the largest class at two tracks in michigan and several tracks from there to florida.

TCs on a dirt oval ? That is gonna depend on how bumpy the track is.

If the track is smooth , then there should be no problem.

The first year of our ocal dirt oval track , we ran TCs , and it was too rough.

So , now we run Custom Works Late model GBXs, CW Sprint cars, RC10 buggies of all vintages with LM bodies, and Traxxas Bandits with LM bodies.

All of them do fine.

But- now that the track has "matured" , and is much smoother , we could probably run TCs.

We run TC Late Models at our tracks in West Michigan. As Ohio Mike said, they are our most popular class. The tracks are super smooth and flat clay tracks so the cars kind of drift around the corners nicely. Any rocks or bumpy surfaces take all the fun out of TC Late Model racing.

The shaft drive cars seem to hold up a little better, but a couple of guys run xray 007's and they are pretty fast out there.

We run them with 5" side dams to help them turn, foam tires (custom works) and they friggin fly around the track. On a TC4, Green Springs on the left, Silver on the right. When they are hooked up, they are something to see and race.

If anyones in Michigan next weekend, there's $400-$500 in prize money for a nitro (mostly NTC3's) All Pro 200 race at Dukes Raceplex in Muskegon. Electric racing too, just a special feature for the nitro cars. Should be a thread over on hobbytalk for this one.
