First annual Mississippi State Championship 1:8 Dirt Oval Race

Trophies will be presented for 1st through 5th.

Trophies will be presented for 1st through 3rd.


This will be the first annual Mississippi State Championship Dirt Oval race. Many prizes will be given away.

Late Model Rules:
1. BODY - Any Late Model Body fabbed or molded body . Must resemble a real Late Model. No side dams. Rear spoiler no larger than 3 inches tall. Added winglets can be up to 2.5 inches high X 4.5 inches length, maxium of 3 across the rear spoiler. Cannot be higer than the spoiler. Body must be secure on all four corners. Everyone must run a number on both sides of the car. Body must FULLY cover the tires and wheels. No sharp edges on body please.

2. TIRES - Any rubber street tread 1/8 scale production tire. No capped or silicone tires, no foam. Any 1/8 sclae buggy wheel or truggy wheel as lone as wheels and tires do not stick out beyond the body.

3. ENGINE - Any .21 to .28 engine allowed. There will be NO CLAIMER rule on engines. Carburetors must have some type of return spring or rubber band. No two speeds allowed. Any production type exhaust pipe.

4. CHASSIS - Any 1/8 scale 4wd buggy or oval production chassis. Fuel tank maximum capacity of 150cc

Default Complete Rules

LateModel 1/8 Scale
Body:
  • Any late model body (fabbed or molded)
  • NO side dams.
  • Rear Spoiler no larger than 3" tall
  • Winglets allowed. 2.5" high by 4.5" in length (Maximum is 3 total across rear spoiler)
  • Body MUST be secure on all four corners
  • Everyone MUST run a number on both sides of the body.
  • Body MUST fully cover tires and wheels
  • No sharp edges please!

Tires:
  • Any street rubber tread 1/8 scale production tire allowed
  • NO capped or silicone tires
  • NO foams
  • Any 1/8 scale buggy or truggy wheel
  • Tires can not stick out from under the body

Engine:
  • Any .21 up to .28 engine allowed
  • There will be NO Claimer Rule on engines
  • Carburetors MUST have some type of return spring or rubberband
  • Any Production type exhaust

Chassis:
  • Any 1/8 scale 4wd Buggy or Oval Production chassis
  • NO two speed transmissions
  • Fuel tank maximum capacity is 150cc
  • Minimum weight is 8 lbs.


Sprint Car 1/8 Scale
Body:
  • MUST have scale appearing Cage, Hood, Side Panels (if used), Nerf Bars, and Bumper (if used)
  • Molded tank section is optional but folded material MUST resemble a Sprint Car tail section and fit inside the rear bumper area.

Wings:
Top Wing
  • Maximum Wing Size: Center = 9 1/2" X 9 1/2" Left Side = 5" X 9 1/2" Right Side = 5" X 9 1/2"
  • Minimum Wing Size: Center = 8" X 8" Left Side = 3" X 8" Right Side = 4" X 8"
Front Wing
  • Maximum Wing Size: Center = 6 1/4" X 4" Left & Right Sides = 4" X 2"
Wing Specs
  • Center wing MUST be made from at least 3 seperate pieces of Plastic or Lexan Material.
  • NO one piece wings
  • Aluminum Center sections may be used as long as there are no sharp edges
  • Wing MUST be mounted centered of cage
  • NO offset wings allowed
  • Wings MUST be mounted level from side to side
  • Sides Panels MUST have braces to hold them at 90 degree to center section during race conditions
  • Braces can be a maximum of .750" wide and front edgeof front brace must be no more than 1.5" back from side panel leading edge
  • Flat foil center sections will be allowed a .250" turndown at the leading edge
  • Wing can have up to .500" rear spoiler, MUST be part of center section piece.
Tires:
  • Any Street rubber thread 1/8 scale production tire allowed
  • NO capped or silicone tires
  • NO Foams
  • Any Buggy or Truggy Wheel

Engine:
  • Any nitro engine up to .28
  • Any Production exhaust allowed
  • Carb MUST have a return spring or rubberband
  • There will be NO claimer rule on Engines

Chassis:
  • Any 1/8 scale buggy or production sprint car allowed.
  • NO two speeds
  • Fuel tank capacity of 150cc
  • Minimum weight is 8 lbs

General Track Rules
  • Not coming through tech will warrant a DQ
  • Cussing an official will get you a DQ and you will have to leave
  • Making obscene gestures to an official will get a DQ and you will have to leave
  • MUST have a personal transponder (AMB)
  • DO NOT bother the person running the scoring system
  • Drivers Only allowed in drivers stand after track goes green
  • If you race, you turn marshal (unless medical reasons)
  • No more than 8 cars on the track at a time
  • DO NOT yell at turn marshalls
  • If you are not racing stay out of Pit Lane
  • Only one person per racer allowed in Pit Lane
  • Track officials WILL call rough driving
  • There will be a 3 lap rule in the mains. If you are off the racing surface for 3 laps during the race DO NOT get back on the track.
  • In the mains, a corner marshall is not allowed to repair your car it must be taken from the track to be worked on
  • Leader always starts the race at the start line only. If you jump the start you will go to the rear of the field. Jump again and you get DQ'ed that race or heat.
  • If you bump or spin someone on the start, you will be moved to the rear of the field. Bump or spin again, you get DQ'ed that race or heat.
  • Please allow 2 to 3 feet between cars on each and every start.
  • Everyone knows you are not going to win the race on the start, but you can lose a race on the start.
  • A good clean start usually means a good clean race.
  • Race others as you would like to be raced.
  • An official or race director may make a driver pull his/her car off the track if it is determined to be out of control or if the driver is driving rough. This call can be made at any time during the race.
  • Always remember if you spin out or wreck look and make sure you are not pulling out in front of another racer.
  • If you move to the infield, ease back on to the track, you already made a mistake, don't make another one by pulling out and hitting someone else.
