Default One cell lipo's changing the hobby

Hey all: With one cell lipo's coming to market now from a few companies will this bring back more interest in 1/12th oval? Also how many 1/12th oval classes should there be and what motor type 17.5,13.5 or 10.5? Thanks for the info

it may bring back some interest in 1/12th oval, but more than likely not. The 10th scale guys are swapping out the 4cell 27t power plant for a 1cell lipo and 13.5(19T). We always ran 4cell 27t in our 1/12ths, so prolly 13.5 1cell in them too if they pick up any popularity again. The single cell deal will be a huge benefit for 1/12th onroad guys for sure, assuming they don't run a t-plate car. However the SMC single cell batts actually have 2 cells in them, just wired in parallel, so voltage does not increase, only capacity. This means a 3.7v saddle pack could be easily made for t-plate cars...

Personalty, I would love to see 12th scale oval make a come back. I thought the racing with the little cars was a lot more enjoyable and had different challenges compared to the 10th scale cars. Single cell with a 13.5 would be good for me, still plenty of speed without being out of control.
I have a 12L3 set up and waiting.

absolutely, would be fun to run again, but interest in my area is nonexistant. I had a Hyperdrive Pro2 12th scale that was a blast to run. Would prolly pick up a Pro3 12th if the class made a comeback
