Default T3

I have a on old aluminum chassis T3 sitting here with motor, servo and electronics in it but no wheels and tires. I bought the thing for a song and maybe would like to convert it for oval racing. Any recommendations for tires/wheels and body?? Or can it even be done???

if it has an aluminum chassis plate, sounds like its a t2, not a t3. If you want to go oval racing, you can run Mcallister oval bodies(with some modification to the body for shock tower clearance), or just run a stadium truck body.

Factory Works makes oval specific shock towers which you would use with tc3 or other touring car length shocks. Using these would allow you to use Factory works or Mcallister Oval truck bodies without hacking up the body to make it fit.

Tires depend on what oval surface you plan on running on. Carpet? Asphalt/Concrete? Dirt? And if dirt, what is the surface like? hard packed surfaces with lots of traction, you could run Proline Strikers or even foam tires with grooves cut in them. Loose dirt track, prolly a bowtie or step pin would work great, with edges of some sort up front. On pavement, go with Strikers, road hawgs, or maybe even slicks. Carpet, runs foams of course.

For even more information on converting an Associated truck to oval, head on over to Dirtoval.com lots of knowledgable guys over there

With an aluminum chassis it could even be a RC10T.
