Checkered Flag raceway in Bonner Springs, KS presents the 2009 kansas dirt oval championships july 31 -aug 2

Open practice friday july 31st
2 rounds of qualifing sat aug 1st
Mains sunday aug 2nd
All electric
Classes:
Novice
2wd mini late model
2wd open wheel mini
4wd mini late model
10th scale Truck
10th scale Sprint car
10th scale 2wd late model
10th scale 2wd kdm (edm)
10th scale 4wd late model
Race format:
Novice-30 lap heat races 40lap amain 30 bmain 20 cmain and lower
Mini classes - 30lap heat races 50 lap amain 40 lap bmain 30 lap cmain and lower
All 10th scale classes - 75 lap amain 50 lap bmain 40 lap cmain and lower

Top 6 advance to amain with 2 bump ups 8 car amains
2 cars will bump out of each main

Track times:
Friday - track opens 9am practice from 10am-5pm sign-ups start 9:30
Saturday - track opens 7am practice 8-9:30 sign up closes 9:30 Drivers meeting 9:45 heat races start at 10am 2 rounds of qualifing
Sunday - track opens 8am mains start 10am
Prizes and awards after mains are over
Last year there was 120+ entries
Weekly average 100 entries of local racers

OK, but seriously - this is the first year for the 2 day format!!!! Should allow lots of time for everything without rushing!!!!

And, I'll be there Sunday covering the event for RC Driver - for like the 4th year!!!!!!

Look forward to seeing lots of old friends and making some new ones!!!!!

has there ever been an 1/8 format at this race.

No 8th scales.......its an electric only track

The track is 80x40 with 10ft lanes

Its nice track with some tough competition
Mod truck and sprint car seem to be the biggest class...with mini late model not to far behind

Thats good because all the nitro guys will be at the Pro Late Model Nitro Summer Nationals in Joplin, MO racing for $$$.

Too bad both races are on the same weekend. I have a new sprint on the way that does not take Blue Thunder HP8 fuel. Will have to make a trip up sometime this fall.
