Default Installing Losi L8ight bumper/body mounts on RC8

I asked this question over at dirtoval.com and thought I would ask the same question over here...

Has anyone tried installing the Losi L8ight front bumper/body mounts on an Associated RC8? Thinking of converting my RC8 to oval duty. I was just eyeballing the parts and it looks almost like a straight bolt-on. The upper brace holes look to be a bit too far apart to screw into the front shock tower, but nothing a dremel can't fix.

Rear mounting should just need the flat bar off the rear L8ight mounts mounted to the wing mount on top...

Opinions? Ideas?

No offroad tracks very close around here, but there are several oval tracks that are closer. Tired of seeing the RC8 gather dust.

Thanks!

Team Hoagie Designs makes a late model mount kit for the RC8 already.

I thought that was a limited run of like 15 or so.....he is making them on a regular basis now? I had seen that thread, but didn't think he had any more.

The only worry I have with Hoagie's system is parts availability, otherwise is a great looking system! The Losi parts may be a bit easier to order and obtain replacement parts for breakage.

So far, on the Losi parts the only mods I have heard are to use a dremel to thin the front mounting tab so it will fit under the front diff housing. The holes line up perfectly already. You have to do a bit of dremeling on the top brace on the front and screw it into the top of the diff housing where the little bit of the buggy body is screwed on.

Have been advised on two different setups for the rear, but I am mainly looking to keep the rear shock area as-is as much as possible and do something similar with the rear mount crossbar that Hoagie did and just mount the crossbar to the top of the existing wing mount...

I did make a few kits for the RC8, but I only have one left now. I've got another project I'm working on that's keeping me pretty busy, so I won't be making them anymore.
