Default Customworks gbx conversion to CCS chassis

I have been testing and racing the new CCS chassis. The new custom chassis system or CCS will be a kit from speed racing products that allows you to convert the customworks gbx dirt oval car into a CCS car. There are many advantages to the CCS chassis vs the standard gbx car. But first and most important the CCS upgrade bolts right up to your gbx car parts. In other words you use all of your gbx parts except for the chassis and shock towers. The new chassis has adjustable battery position, using a battery slider tray. This allows you to simply adjust the battery to any position, within the battery hot spot. The position of the battery is often overlooked. But now you can change the cars handling and weight transfer, all with a simple adjustment. And with the shock towers you will be able to raise or lower the ride hight, because there are many extra adjustment holes in the shock towers. It is nice to be able to adjust the shocks to places that are not even available on a stock shock tower. And the wheel base is adjustable just encase you are racing on one of those short or long tracks. Also the front width is adjustable so you can run different length A-arms. Making a great product like the gbx car even better, and more fun to drive. Go to speedysracingparts.com/ and join the forum there. You could be one of the first people to receive your new CCS kit. I have won races with the CCS chassis and have the local track record at 70 laps. It is just fun being faster. Dan

Will this allow you to offset your chassis?

Default Offset chassis

The front width is adjustable. The rear width is not. I have never tried to run the car with the front offset to one side.

Default Firmer or softer suspension?

Firmer or softer suspension ? I am finding the CCS car likes softer springs when running at raceway 42. When the track is loose, bumpy and on the dry side, the car works better with softer springs. With softer springs the car just turns in better through the corners. And with the softer springs on the rear the car comes off the corner better, than it did with stiffer springs. But I know that when the track gets smooth and wet, and tacky, I will have to increase the spring poundage so the car will not spin out, from to much chassis roll, or one or two wheels loosing grip. So far this year the track has not been super sticky though. No one has been close to breaking the late-model or sprint car records. And if it keeps on raining like it has been, then the track will be on the loose and bumpy side, for the rest of the year. Its finely staying warm at night. Not good for sleeping but the heat stays in the track, and improves the tackiness on the surface of the track. I think the ground water table is high enough. Once we get the track right I hope it does not rain for a few weeks. Dan
