I only bash and currently have a ERBE. I have always loved the bajas but they have been alittle out of my reach financially. I love just going out and jumping and bashing in general. No intentions of racing. I like the idea of building it as a kit though. I'd feel more like its mine if i built it from scratch.
I think i'd rather have the 5t though and i don't think that comes as a kit does it? What are the benefits of the 5t over the 5b? or is there none? Just to me it seems like the 5t can get around better for what i'm planning on using it for
The B and the T are 95% identical. The main differences I think are the body and higher ground clearence. Running the B and is a little bit of a challenge. The T is great for running in the grass and or really rough tarmac. The B is for sand, road course or a good trail. For the general basher, I would recommend the T. If you want to build it yourself, go with a 5Bss kit. Most guys that get the T will break the thing down and do modifications then rebuild. The T is a RTR that I think that many guys junk the electronics and install their own. Where as the Bss kit you add what you like. I feel that you would go for the 5T being that its a great basher and has much in common with it's buggy sister.
enjoy!

thanks, yeah thats what i was thinking. i just wish i could get a 5t ss and build the truggy from scratch thats all. its gonna be ran in grass, stones, dirt, and some big jumps. maybe by the time i am reading to get one they will have a kit
i have a 5t, and trust me you'll have your share of taking it apart and building it. it takes on a whole new life and a sec loan when you get one, and the so called "needed" hop ups never ends. i sent you a PM on a good site for more info. but the T is a monster if you never seen one. you'll simile the sec you see the box and never stop. and get ready to sell off any other RCs you have. i had to put mine away for race season so i whould stop funding it.lol
Check out hpibajaforum for some B.A. Baja pics. Most Baja owners have 5-15k in cars or parts. I'm only a baby with a stock ss(got smart and gave it to a friend) and a 6k 5t. There all bash and sck at racn which is my only problem with them
5k-15k as in 5,000$$-15,000$$$
on an rc car.
I make enough not to worry about money to much and spend alot on my rc but that i cant justifie tho im thinking about getting and will have to see

Yeap not a typo. But look at the up side. You have on fuel cost and one tank last up to 45 mins
I have a few dollars in my 5T and 5Bss. About $2000 in each.
Cobra Jet did tell the truth. All of us that have bought a 5t did take them apart. I know I did. I did not run my 5T for about two weeks after I bought the thing. After replacing the electronics, and tearing apart the rear diff. Everybody that has a 5T must tear the rear diff due to the fact that there is no or very little diff oil in it. There are more things that you have to do but but the best advice that I or anybody else can give is on http://www.hpibajaforum.com/. Check out that site! Great advice and really good people. All topics are Baja based.

Throttle & Break on my T and B hitec 5625. My steering is the stock Hpi/Futaba metal geared servo. I'll upgrade those in the near future.

if you ever thought you wanted a truck get a T. the conversion from a buggy to a Truck is around 500.00 but to go from a truck to a buggy is only 150 to 200.
you can get stupid at throwing money at them, but it really depends on you and how you use it.
IF you drive it like an RC, you ll likely need very little to maintain it.
but they are SO damn cool and really take alot of abuse, so most of us drive them like we are, well inside them Driving them" lol so they get used harder than an RC should/would typically.
i have round 4300 into my Proto Racer. and close to 4800 into the Hooters Build. and i drive them like a 2 dollar crach ho too. lol
