Default Front Buggy Slicks

Does anyone know of a front buggy slick that would fit on a stock Associated or Losi XXX-CR wheel?? All the slicks I have seen are for 2 inch wheels...I really do not want to grind down my ribs unless thats my only option...Someone has to make a rubber slick for a 2.2 inch front buggy wheel...Right? I cant run foams on my track, has to be a rubber tire...Slicks get the best traction...Most guys are running the Custom Works street tires and wheels (2 inch)...I dont think they get as good of traction...Thanks

When we need slicks locally, we just get a tire with the right rubber compound and/or profile we want, and trim off the ribs (or nip off the pins), then use a dremel to finish the job of turning it into a "slick". It's messy, but not as much work as you might think... The nice part is it opens up all sorts of options because all the compounds and tire shapes are now usable. (4wd fronts are wider, giving a bigger profile if your tech guys don't get too picky about front width...)

when you are talking about 4WD fronts, are you talking about the XXX-4 or the B4 wheels?

The reference to "4wd fronts" is to 4wd buggy front TIRES (such as the LOSO 'Blockhead' tires) -- they are a bit wider than normal buggy front tires and when converted to slicks can give you a bigger "footprint" if you need it... The B4 front WHEELS use standard bearings, etc. and the ProLine version (among others) are a bit wider than the standard front wheels, so that you can use wide front tires and still get a stable tire under cornering forces. (Related tip -- for carpet racing, where the side bite can be BIG, you need to ensure the tire won't roll under in the corner -- I like to use standard rear buggy tire foam. The larger foams fill the tire better so they hold their shape under stress.)

Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier -- does this help..?

PS: In your original note you mentioned both Associated and XXX-CR wheels...? Those are NOT compatible, which do you have? (You can't use the B4 rims on a XXX-CR and vice-versa...)
