Default New to oval

I am a BIG Nascar fan and I want to get into paved oval racing. I do not have alot to spend on a car, but what I was wondering is is there an oval car out there that is easy for a begineer to tune and work on?

The legends classes are easy, but if you do some reading, just about all pan cars setup adjustments are the same, you can pick up a used one at
www.hobbytalk.com
under the oval sell/swao area, you can also check your local race track to see if any local racers have one for sale.
go to your local oval track and look around and ask questions, alot of the racers you meet will be glad to answer any questions you have

MDB,

Couple questions for you...

1) Do you want an oval car to 'play with' or to 'race'?

...if the answer is 'play', you may want to look at a RTR type touring car (4wd) because they can be run on a dusty or less 'perfect' surface.

Oval (Pan Car) type cars require a race ready surface, or they are virtually impossible (and not fun) to drive.

2) Where are you located, and is there a track near you?

...if there is, check it out -- generally guys racing have some older cars they'd part with fairly cheap... (caution: make sure to find out WHAT the car is, and/or that you can get extra parts if its an older car)

HobbyTalk's "SWAP and SELL" is a great place for good deals on used Oval Cars, and there is a lot more OVAL interest over there.
