Default what servos are needed for 1/8 late model racing

hey guys, i was wondering if a servo like the 9100s, and 9100t is needed for 1/8 late model dirt oval racing.......i was looking at a steering servo that had 172oz torque at .18 transit time.....would that be good enough for the steering or is a fast steering servo necessary? also i was looking at a throttle servo with .15 transit time and 94oz of torque, i need your honest opinions because i am getting my late model ready for this season!!! also what is everyone found to be a good motor?? i was looking at the grp .21 non tuned version. thanks!

The Dynamite Platinum .21 XP rocks in the late models! Its very popular in the NSCS form of racing.

I think that in terms of durability and performance, it's much smarter to buy quality the first time around rather then trying to 'get by' with something that is not high quality. With that said, I highly recommend the 9100S & 9100T servos - they're durable and perform to spec.

I too am a happy Platinum .21 engine user - have them in my L8ight model, buggy & truggy - they perform good enough for Doug to with the highly competitive Chili Bowl Jr. this year! They're long lived and VERY fast - what more could you ask for????

In case you did not see my response over on DODC the 9100T is perfect for steering and to save a few bucks I run the 8800T for the throttle. I have not had one servo issue in a years worth of late model racing.
