I've raced T4 on dirt oval I basically run arms level in the front bones level in the rear. 40wt oil all around, Silver springs in the front, green or grays in the rear. Rear toe removed for stock or spec (leave the toe in the rear for mod class, you can motor through the little bit of tire scrub the added straight line stability is a bigger plus having the rear toe on corner exit with the higher speeds) I also add 1.5 oz of weight in rear (FT team recommended). I use 20 degree caster blocks in the front. 1.5 degree - camber on the RR 2 degrees - camber for the RF, 0 camber for the left side of the truck. For tires BSR silver tires all around, front and rear grooved as normal. Hope that makes sense, lol.

Great information, I was planning a similar setup for my T4 but this will get me closer with less trial and error.

You can also consider getting this conversion kit and use touring car shocks: http://www.speedysracingparts.com/Associated.htm

Just an FYI on the TC shock conversion kits. IME the only real benefit to these kits is allowing the use of more oval type bodies such as those offered by Mcallister racing.

The downfall too these kits is that the TC shocks usually don't offer enough travel for the truck in the front when using the buggy springs and when using the TC springs they are usually too firm to get the truck to handle properly. I find the stock shocks to work best as mentioned or buggy shocks with buggy springs on all four corners. It's easy enough to implement a mount for the rear that will allow the use of an oval body if that's the way you are wanting to go.

Just my 2 cents.

Have you or anyone played with putting the shorter buggy arms on the left side, or moving the battery to the left side of the chassis? All are fair game within the rules on dirtoval.com, just wondering what the outcome of these changes are before I go ahead and do it myself.

I never hacked up my T4 but I have had terminator based mod trucks and I know that even with them they handled better with the battery in as far toward the center as I could get it. IMO If you want a truck that's cheap to build and hard to beat put a truck body on a B4. With the shorter wheelbase and narrower track width it will have much improved corner speed and after all, races are won in the corners.

I always used buggy fronts with limiters in the rear rather than the TC shocks and had great results. I always ran 80wt on the asphalt oval. greens in front and silvers in rear.

The track has a ton of bank though.

our old track where we used to do dirtoval, a guy had a T3 with the left side short arms, that baby really cornered well with his set up, another guy exparemented with just a short left rear arm and he had some handling issues, dont know if he ever got them worked out though...
